As of 2008-2009 Academic year, Championship access will be as follows:
For team sports, when number of teams is > 8, 8 have access, if 8 or less, then 6 have access, if 6 or less, then 4 have access. When 6 teams are involved, the top 2 will receive a bye to the semi-final round. Pairings for the quarterfinals will be: 6@3, 5@4.
* For the first year of Women's Lacrosse (2008-2009), two teams will participate in the tournament. Access will be altered for following years.
