Chad batted .563 with 20 RBI?s, 4 homeruns, 3 doubles and a triple.  Phillips led the Spartans to a 7-2 week.

Softball Player of the Week 4/26/04

Carolyn McAvoy      Husson College     Freshman     Shortstop    Brewer, ME
Carolyn went 21-35 for .600 average with 19 RBI?s during a 7-3 week for Husson.  Carolyn also had 14 putouts and 21 assists.

John went 11-19 (.578) with 9 RBI?s and 1 home run.

Jen hit .473 (9-19) with 2 doubles, 6 RBI?s and one home run.

Kristi Guzzo     Elms College       Sophomore     Pitcher    Springfield, MA
Guzzo went 4-1 with 32 strikeouts and a 1.64 ERA in 33.0 innings last week, including a combined 15 strikeouts in two complete game efforts in a doubleheader sweep at Husson.  Guzzo has pitched every inning of every game for the Blazers this season.

Joy Ireland     Thomas College       Sophomore     Pitcher    Clinton, ME
Joy pitched her second career no-hitter vs. Maine Maritime and went 3-0 on the mound for week including a 4 hit 2 run performance against Mount Ida and a 4 hit shutout of Lasell College.

Caron hit .444 (4-9) with 2 RBI?s and one home run.  He also had a perfect fielding week with 4 putouts and 4 assists.

Softball Conference Player of the Week 4/5/04

Laura Stone     Lasell College     Junior      Pitcher    Ogunquit, ME
Laura pitched 15 1/3 innings allowing only 5 hits and 0 runs while striking out 11, all vs. NAC opponents.  She also went 4-11 at the plate during the Lasers 6-0 week.
