2004-05 NAC Players of the Week

Baseball Player of the Week 5/16/2005

Greg Kimball, St. Joseph's
(Senior, Pitcher - Lebanon, ME)
Pitched a complete game on Friday, May 13, striking out seven along the way and allowing a single run to guide the Monks to their first NAC Championship, earning Tournament MVP honors.
 


Softball Player of the Week 5/9/2005

Stephanie Moriarty, Maine Farmington
(Sophomore, Pitcher - Sandwich, MA)
Struck out eight batters and held Elms to one run in a 2-1 win on Sunday, forcing a decisive seventh game between Maine Farmington and Elms for the 2005 NAC Softball Championship.  Came back to make a relief appearance in the final game of the tournament Sunday, striking out four batters through six innings of work, earning Tournament MVP honors.
 


Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week 5/2/2005

P.J. Matthews, Mount Ida
(Junior, Attack  - Baltimore, MD)
Took home MVP honors in the 2005 NAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday with 2 goals and 2 assists in an 11-6 victory over Castleton State.  It was the second consecutive tournament championship for Mount Ida.

Softball Player of the Week 5/2/2005

Kristi Guzzo, Elms
(Junior, Pitcher - Springfield, MA)
Guzzo pitched three consecutive complete-games to help the Blazers advance to the NAC Softball Tournament Championship game.  In her 3-0 week, Guzzo tossed back-to-back shutouts on Sunday against Maine Farmington and Thomas, striking out eight batters in each game.

Baseball Player of the Week 5/2/2005

Luke Enman, St. Joseph's
(Freshman, SS/2B - Milan, NH)
In an 8-2 week for the Monks, Enman batted an impressive .514, starting all 10 outings for St. Joseph's.  Enman collected 18 hits, including 5 doubles and 3 home runs, along with 14 RBIs.
 


Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week 4/25/2005

Derek Damico, Castleton State
(Senior, Attack  - Albertson, NY)
Had an explosive week statistically for the Spartans, scoring 14 goals and adding in seven assists in a 4-0 week for Castleton State, including two conference wins.  Against intrastate rival Johnson State on Friday, Damico had eight goals and one assists.

Softball Player of the Week 4/25/2005

Laura Stone, Lasell
(Senior, Pitcher - Ogunquit, ME)
Stone posted three shutouts during the week, coming against NAC foes Lesley and Wheelock, along with one against Brandeis in non-conference action.  Stone also won her fourth game of the week over Fitchburg, allowing only one earned run in a 5-3 decision.

Baseball Player of the Week 4/25/2005

Charlie Furbush, St. Joseph's
(Freshman, Pitcher/1B - South Portland, ME)
Furbush posted a respectable 7-for-11 from the plate (.636) with three runs and two RBIs, while picking up two stolen bases and two walks.  The Monks went 3-0 during the week, and are in the midst of a 10-game winning streak.
 


Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week 4/18/2005

Dan Haley, Daniel Webster
(Junior, Attack  - Tully, NY)
Posted 12 goals and added in eight assists in a 1-2 week for Daniel Webster.

Softball Co-Players of the Week 4/18/2005

Tammie Tremblay, Elms
(Freshman, Pitcher  - Springfield, MA)
Hurled nine scoreless innings for the Blazers last week, striking out seven batters along the way while only allowing two hits en route to NAC victories over Mount Ida and Wheelock.  From the plate, batted .450 with two doubles, seven RBIs and five runs scored.

Lisa Hasch, Castleton State
(Senior, Pitcher  - North Monmouth, ME)
In a 4-2 week for the Spartans, Hasch pitched 19.2 innings, allowing only two earned runs while striking out nine batters.  Offensively, Hasch went 9-for-19 from the plate with 10 RBIs, three doubles and four runs scored.

Baseball Player of the Week 4/18/2005

Keith Renaud, Becker
(Freshman, Outfielder - Southbridge, MA)
In a 5-2 week for the Hawks, Renaud batted an impressive .571 with 16 hits, highlighted by three doubles, two triples and two home runs with four RBIs.  Posted multiple hits in each outing of the week for Becker.
 


Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week 4/11/2005

Matthew VanDerkar, Castleton State
(Junior, Midfield  - Manchester, VT)
In the Spartan's lone contest over the weekend against NAC foe Thomas, VanDerkar scored six goals, pushing Castleton State's record to 3-0 this season in league play.

Softball Player of the Week 4/11/2005

Becca Marks, Becker
(Senior, Pitcher  - Ashland, MA)
Pitched 35.2 innings in a 4-2 week for the Hawks.  Allowed 6 earned runs while striking out 28 batters.  From the plate, Marks went 11-for-20 (.550), with 5 RBI's 5 doubles, and 2 home runs.

Baseball Player of the Week 4/11/2005

Derek McIntosh, St. Joseph's
(Senior, Catcher/Right Field - Auburn, ME)
Went 14-for-24 from the plate in a 5-3 week for St. Joseph's.  Had 13 runs, 12 RBIs 5 walks, and 4 home runs, including two against NAC foe Thomas.
 


Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week 4/5/2005

P.J. Matthews, Mount Ida
(Junior, Attack  - Baltimore, MD)
Scored two goals and added three assists in Mount Ida's only action of the week, a close loss to Massachusetts Maritime.

Softball Player of the Week 4/5/2005

Kristi Guzzo, Elms
(Junior, Pitcher  - Springfield, MA)
Pitched a pair of complete games while only allowing one run to help the Blazers to 5-0 and 7-1 victories over NAC foe Becker on Friday.  Combined for 15 strikeouts through the two outings.

Baseball Player of the Week 4/5/2005

Devin Caron, Becker
(Junior, Second Base  - Portland, ME)
In Becker's lone contest last week, a 10-7 win over Clark, Caron went 2-for-4, driving in three runs and scoring two to help the Hawks to their first-ever win over Clark in seven tries.
 


Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week 3/28/2005

Roscoe Bishop, Maine Maritime
(Junior, Goalkeeper  - West Bath, ME)
Made 11 saves and only allowed one goal to help the Mariners to their first win of the season, 9-1 over NAC foe Daniel Webster.
