Field Hockey

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Stephanie Gildart, WNEC (Jr., M - Portland, Maine)
Junior Stephanie Gildart had the first goal in each game in victories over Keene State (a 2-1 season opening win decided on penalty strokes) and Endicott (3-2) in the opening round of the Zenaty Invitational at Springfield.

Carolyn Griggs, Castleton State (Fr., F - Lincoln, Vt.)
In her first collegiate game Griggs tallied two goals, one of which gave the Spartans a second-half lead in a season opening 4-6 loss to Stevens Institute.

Men's Soccer

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Svetlin Ignatov, Mount Ida (Fr., F - Taunton, Mass.)
Ignatov propelled the Mustangs to two 2-1 victories this week. He netted the game-winner versus Eastern Nazarenene on Thursday and tallied a goal versus Emmanuel on Saturday. He finished the week with a pair of markers in two matches.

Craig Zeigler, Thomas (Fr. F - Wiscasset, Maine)
Zeigler scored his first two collegiate goals in a Terrier uniform helping Thomas to a 0-1-1 week. The freshman scored Saturday with 1:48 remaining to force a 1-1 tie with Maine-Fort Kent. Zeigler gave Thomas an 1-0 lead on Sunday scoring two minutes into the contest in a 1-2 loss to Maine-Machias.

Women's Soccer

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Amanda Janik, Bay Path (So., F - Agawam, Mass.)
Janik, the 2004 NAC Rookie of the Year, led the Wildcats to a 1-1 week with four goals in two games.

Tatyana Wolterbeek, Husson (F., GK - Wells, Maine)
Wolterbeek had 17 saves on 29 shots in a 2-0 loss to #3 Wheaton. Wolterbeek held the Lyons scoreless for the first 60 minutes of play.

Volleyball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Christina Nikolaidis, Mount Ida (Sr., OH - Bourne, Ma)
Nikolaidis turned in a pair of double-doubles in three matches at the Cobblestone Inn Women's Volleyball Invitational this weekend. She totaled 15 kills and 17 assists in a 3-1 win over WNEC on Saturday. She also led the Mustangs with 16 kills and 15 digs in a 3-1 loss to Johnson and Wales on Friday. In three matches this weekend, Nikolaidis averaged 3.45 kills and 3.82 digs per game.
