- Gorham, ME)
Chambers scored 2 goals in a 3-1 UMF victory over conference
opponent Thomas. Chambers notched the first goal ten minutes
into the contest and added an insurance score with six minutes
remaining. Chambers controlled play from her midfield position. |
Michelle Barden, Husson (Fy. F - St.
Albans, ME)
Barden recorded two goals in Husson's 3-1 over Saint Joseph's
College, ME including the game winner. The Eagles were 1-1 on
the week. |

Shane Coffin, Husson (Sr. F - Topsham,
ME)
Leading his squad to two conference wins, Coffin factored in
four out of five goals in Husson's 5-3 league win over Elms and
added a goal in a 2-1 victory over Becker. The senior had 2
goals and 2 assists against the Blazers.
Justin Fleming, Castleton St. (Jr. D -
Derby, VT)
Fleming was a defensive mainstay and an offensive force as
Castleton shutout two league opponents. The junior stopper
headed in the game winner in the 67th minute versus Thomas and
scored once in a 2-0 defeat of Me.-Farmington. |
Ryan Hahn, Castleton St. (Fr. F -
Benson, VT)
The speedy freshman scored the game winner at Me.-Farmington and
caused plenty of match-up problems in the Spartans' two NAC wins. |
Women's Soccer

Amy Yandow, Castleton St. (Sr. F -
Vergennes, VT)
Yandow led the Spartans to a 3-0 week scoring five goals. The
senior forward scored both goals in a 2-1 overtime win versus
Green Mountain College, including a behind-the-back game winner
with less than 1 minute left in the second overtime. Yandow
followed up that performance with a hat-trick in a 4-2
conference win over Thomas College. |
Laurie Melen, Husson (Fr. F -
Londonderry, NH)
Melen had a goal and an assist in the Eagles 5-0 league victory
over Becker College. |
Volleyball

Allison Bianco, Lasell (So. MH -
Fishkill, NY)
Bianco led the attack as the Lasers opened up their NAC
competition with two victories this weekend. Bianco averaged 4.8
kills per game while posting a .468 hitting percentage. The
sophomore also added 12 service aces and three blocks over the
weekend. |
Stephanie Saito, Mount Ida (Fr. S - W.
Linn, OR)
Saito averaged 3.93 assists and 1.14 digs in 14 games for the
Mustangs. She posted 15 assists, five digs and two service aces
in a 3-0 victory over Simmons College on Tuesday and followed
that with a 15 assist performance in Mount Ida's 3-2 win over
Babson on Thursday. Saito tallied 12 assists in a 3-0 victory
over the University of Maine Farmington and 13 assists in the
Mustangs 3-0 win over Thomas on Saturday. Mount Ida was a
perfect 4-0 last week. |

Chris Johnson, Lasell (Fr. -Gloucester,
MA)
Johnson ran his best time of the year at the Mass.-Dartmouth
Invitational this weekend, with a time of 29:08. |
Chris Gatchell, Castleton St.
(Fr.-Waterford, ME)
Gatchell finished 46th out of 200 runners at the NYU
invitational on September 17th with a time of 29:40 Van
Cortlandt Park in New York City. |

Andra Spearrin, Me.-Farmington (Jr. -
Skowhegan, ME)
Andra Spearrin finished an impressive 60th out of 262 runners
overall in the Mass.-Dartmouth Invitational Meet on September
17th. Spearrin, a junior from the University of Maine at
Farmington completed the muddy course in a time of 20:09, a
personal best by 36 seconds, averaging 6:39 per mile. |
Samantha Posey, Me.-Farmington (Fr. -
Portland, ME)
Samantha Posey, a freshman for the University of Maine
Farmington, turned in an impressive performance in her second
collegiate meet with a time of 21:04, improving her time from
last weekend by 42 seconds, running a fast 6:47 per mile. |
Women's Tennis

Patty Quick, Johnson St. (Sr. -
Norfolk, MA)
Quick, playing as JSC's #1, beat her Castleton opponent in
singles play 6-0, 6-4 and then teamed up with freshman Chelsea
O'Connell to win the #1 doubles match 8-6 to help Johnson State
defeat Castleton State 5-4. |
Marissa Spooner, Becker (Fr. -
Westport, MA)
Marissa went 2-0 in singles matches last week. She had the only
win (6-1,6-3) in a 8-1 loss to Emmanuel and led Becker to a 7-2
win over Bay Path with wins in both singles (6-1, 6-2) and
doubles (8-4 with Julie Arroyo). |
