Carrie Black, Castleton State (Jr. F -
Warrensburg, NY)
Black led the Spartans to a 2-0 week with conference wins over
Lasell College and Wheelock College. The junior forward netted
the game winning goal in both contests, scoring twice in a 3-1
defeat of Lasell and once in a 3-0 victory over Wheelock. |
Caitlin Gelber, WNEC (Fr. F -
Centereach, NY)
Gelber scored two goals and added two assists in three shutout
victories for WNEC. The freshman had a goal and assist in a 2-0
non-league win at Smith, an assist in a conference win at
Wheelock, and a goal in a 2-0 win at Lasell. |

Alan Alexander, Maine Maritime (So. F - Cumberland Ctr,
ME)
Alexander, a sophomore forward, scored both goals in a
2-0
win over Maine-Machias and had two assists
in a 5-2 Mariner road win against Unity College. |
Andrew Lane, Johnson State (Fr. GK -
Charlotte, VT)
Lane notched his fourth shutout of the season against
Colby-Sawyer in a 0-0 tie and also helped Johnson State to a 2-1
overtime victory against Lyndon State. He played 210 minutes in
two games, allowed one goal, and made nine saves in the two
games, including a couple dazzling stops to preserve the tie
against Colby-Sawyer. |

Karen Demers, Thomas (So. F - Sanford,
ME)
Demers scored three goals in Thomas College's 6-3 conference
victory over Lesley in the team's only contest this week. |
Anna Torvi, Lasell (So. M - North Smithfield,
RI)
First year women's soccer player Anna Torvi scored the
game-winning goal against Mount Ida College in a 3-2 conference
win on Saturday. |
Volleyball

Tricia Porter, Husson (Sr. S - North
Hampton, NH)
Porter averaged 8.3 assists per game with 14 service aces as
Husson went 3-0 on the week. The senior setter led the Eagles to
a sweep of two conference opponents with 31 assists and five
service aces in three games against Bay Path and 23 assists with
five aces in three games against Lesley. |
Stephanie Saito, Mount Ida (Fr. S -
West Linn, OR)
Freshman Stephanie Saito directed the Mount Ida offense
collecting 4.27 assists per game in 11 games played. The setter
racked up 17 service aces and 1.64 digs per game, as the
Mustangs posted a perfect 4-0 week including three conference
victories. |
Men's Cross Country

Gabe McConkey, Johnson State (So. -
Afton, VA)
McConkey finished 10th overall at the VT X-C Intercollegiate
Championships on 10/1 to help JSC to a fifth place finish.
McConkey ran the race in a time of 28:15. |
Chris Johnson, Lasell (Fr. -
Gloucester, MA)
Johnson placed ninth at the Rivier Invitational this weekend
with a 7K time of 29:03. |
Women's Cross Country

Samantha Posey, Me.-Farmington (Fr. -
Portland, ME)
Samantha Posey finished in 16th place overall at the
challenging home course of the UMF Beavers. Posey finished in
22:03 over extremely hilly terrain and in second place among the
freshman runners at the Invitational. |
Allison Robinson, Johnson State (Fr. -
Bethlehem, NH)
Robinson finished 15th overall out of 61 runners at the
Vermont Cross Country Intercollegiate Championships held at
Middlebury College to lead Johnson State to a fifth place team
finish. |
Women's Tennis

Danielle Royce, Johnson State (Sr. -
Morrisville, VT)
Royce remained unbeaten in singles play, running her record to
8-0 on the season in defeating opponents from Bay Path College
and Green Mountain College. She also won both #2 doubles matches
she played in to help JSC to a 2-0 week and their sixth team
victory in a row. |
Chelsie O'Connell, Johnson State (Fr. -
Rumford, ME)
O'Connell won both of her singles matches in convincing
fashion (6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-2) in the #2 slot for Johnson
State. O'Connell also won both of her #1 doubles matches to help
JSC to team victories over Bay Path College and Green Mountain
College to give JSC six consecutive team wins. |
