Field Hockey

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Tanya Rego, Simmons (Sr. F - New London,  NH)
Simmons senior forward Tanya Rego had 3 goals and 1 assist in a 4-0 defeat of conference opponent Wheelock.

Brittany Palfy, Becker (Fr. F - Warwick, RI)
Palfy netted two goals for Becker to lead the Hawks to a 2-0 week. She scored her first collegiate goal three minutes into overtime in 2-1 win over conference foe Thomas. The freshman forward scored the initial goal in a 2-1 win over Mass.-Dartmouth on Thursday.

Men's Soccer

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Vuthy Chhum, Elms (Sr. M - Amherst, MA)
Chhum scored his team-leading third goal of the year on a penalty kick in the 35th minute for what stood as the game-winning goal in the Blazers 2-1 win over Lasell College last Tuesday.

Brian Lemont, Me.-Farmington (Fr. GK - Brunswick, ME)
Lemont made 27 saves and held opponents scoreless for 290:00 minutes, securing three shutouts during the week to help the Beavers go 2-0-1. The freshman keeper made eight saves in a 2-0 win over Maine Maritime leading his team to their first conference victory of the year.

Women's Soccer

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jodi Welch, Me.-Farmington (Jr. F - Wells, ME)
Welch scored four goals in a 2-0-1 week for Maine Farmington. The junior forward headed in the game-tying goal with 12 minutes remaining to force a 2-2 tie with Lyndon State on Wednesday. Over the weekend, Welch scored the game's only goal in overtime  against Bay Path and added two tallies in a defeat of Wheelock.

Lauren Stauch, Elms (Sr. GK - East Nassau, NY)
Stauch yielded just one goal in 200 minutes to help lead the Blazers to a 1-0-1 week. In Tuesday's 4-1 conference win at Lasell, Stauch turned aside five shots. She then followed that up with a 10-save performance to help preserve a scoreless tie with Trinity College at home on Thursday.

Amanda Byrne, Me.-Farmington (Fr. D - Winslow, ME)
Byrne assisted on the game-winning overtime goal as Maine Farmington defeated Bay Path 1-0. Her play helped shut down the Wildcat attack and held opponents to three goals in a 2-0-1 week for the Beavers.

Volleyball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Anne Woodsum, Husson (Sr. OH - Addison, ME)
Woodsum averaged 4.4 kills and 4.5 digs per game while recording 15 serves aces and 4 blocks as Husson went 3-1 on the week including a 3-0 defeat of Maine Maritime on Wednesday.

Gianna Spaziante, Lesley (Fr. OH - Hathorne, NY)
Playing in the final two games of the week for the Lynx, Spaziante led Lesley to two wins averaging 3.00 kills and 1.75 digs per game with five service aces.

Men's Cross Country

RUNNER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Joseph Fitzsimmons, Me.-Farmington (Sr. - Lewiston, ME)
Despite muddy conditions, Fitzsimmons ran one of his fastest times this year, 28:15, over the 5 kilometer course. The senior placed 22nd in a competitive field of 236 runners at the at the James Early Invitational in Westfield, Mass. leading UMF to an 11th place finish of 23 teams.

Jonathan Preuss, Johnson St. (Fr. - Boonton Township, NJ)
Preuss, with a time of 31:15, came in 17th place for help Johnson State to a third-place finish in the JSC Invitational.

Women's Cross Country

RUNNER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Andra Spearrin, Me.-Farimington (Jr. - Skowhegan, ME)
Spearrin placed 22nd out of a total of 223 runners at the James Early Invitational in Westfield, Mass. over the weekend. The junior endured the sloppy conditions and finished the 3k course in 20:01, leading the Beavers to an 11th place finish out of 20.

Teri Salwek, Me.-Farmington (Fr. - Weld, ME)
Slawek continues to improve as the season goes on covering the wet and sloppy course at Westfield in 21:30, placing 73rd out of 223 runners.

Women's Tennis

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Colleen Murphy, Becker (So. - Lyme, CT)
Murphy was 3-0 on the court last week with two singles and a doubles win. The sophomore did not drop a set in singles action defeating both her Mitchell and Newbury opponents 6-0, 6-0. In doubles play she paired with Christina DiNardi to win 8-1 against a Mitchell duo.
