Kristy Veazie, Me.-Farmington (Sr. F -
Dexter, ME)
Veazie helped carry UMF to a 2-0 record for the week scoring
four goals and adding an assist. She scored 1 goal and had 1
assist in a 2-0 win over conference rival Husson. Then she
notched a hat trick in a 6-2 victory over the University of New
England.
Cori Eggert, WNEC (So. F - Denville, NJ)
Cori Eggert scored game-winning goals in a pair of 1-0 victories
at Manhattanville and against Simmons that knocked the Sharks
from the NAC unbeaten ranks. |
Caitlin Williams, Lasell (Fr. F ?
Newtown, CT)
Lasell freshman forward Caitlin Williams scored the winning goal
against Becker College to give the Lasers their first NAC win of
the season 1-0. |
Men's Soccer

Michael Grieco, Johnson St. (Jr. F -
Andover, MA)
After missing the previous two matches due to an abdominal
strain, Grieco entered Johnson State's match against Becker with
eight minutes remaining and the score tied at one. The junior
forward scored the game-winner with under a minute to go keeping
the Badgers without a loss in NAC play and in tie for
first-place. |
Joseph Acuek, Lasell (Fr. F - Lincoln, MA)
Freshman forward Joseph Acuek scored a goal and an assist
against Husson College as Lasell won 4-0. |

Amy Yandow, Castleton State (Sr. F -
Vergennes, VT)
In
her team?s only contest of the week, Yandow provided the
game winner with 12 minutes remaining in Castleton State's 1-0
defeat of NAC rival Elms, keeping the Spartans within a game of
first place and upping their conference mark to 6-1-1. |
Heidi Jackson, Me.-Farmington (Fr.
D-York, ME)
Jackson played very solid defense and helped limit Maine
Maritime and Thomas to five shots a piece as UMF improved to
8-1-1 in conference play. The freshman defender also started
several counterattacks in both games from her back position. |

Anne Woodsum, Husson (Jr. OH - Addison,
ME)
Woodsum played in the three non conference games this weekend as
the Eagles went 3-0 (11 games) with the junior outside
hitter averaging 4.5 kills and 4.2 digs. She added 14 services
aces and 2 blocks. |
Jess Whittaker, Maine Maritime (Fr. L -
Calais, ME)
Whittaker helped Maine Maritime to a 4-1 record for the week.
The freshman recorded 46 digs and had 11 aces from the libero
position. |
Men's Cross Country

Joe Fitzsimmons, Me.-Farmington (Sr. -
Lewiston, ME)
Despite the rain and a muddy course, Fitzsimmons ran a
season personal best 27:54 at the State of Maine Meet. Joe
placed 25th of 108 runners leading his team to a fifth place. |
Jeff Campbell, Johnson State (Fr. -
Hinesburg, VT)
Campbell's 8th place finish helped Johnson State to a
first-place team finish at the 8-team Southern Vermont
Invitational on 10/15. Campbell finished the race in 33:15. |
Women's Cross Country

Allison Robinson, Johnson State (Fr. -
Bethlehem, NH)
Robinson finished second overall at the Southern Vermont
Invitational completing the course in 19:47. |
Teri Salwek, Me.-Farmington (Fr. -
Weld, ME)
Slawek placed 48th at the Maine State Meet covering the
challenging course in a time of 22:29. |
Women's Tennis

Marissa Spooner, Becker (Fr. -
Westport, MA)
Spooner, the Hawks #1 singles player, led Becker to a 2-0
weekend with conference wins over Johnson State and Castleton
State. She had a 10-2 singles win against Castleton and paired
with Julie Arroyo as the #1 doubles team to defeat Johnson State
8-5 and Castleton State 9-7. |
Julie Arroyo, Becker (Fr. - Westfield,
MA)
Arroyo went 3-0 last week for the NAC leading Becker Hawks. In
singles play she had a 10-6 decision over Castleton State and as
part of the #1 doubles team for the Hawks paired with Marissa
Spooner had two conference wins over Castleton State and Johnson
State. Arroyo, a junior academically, is playing her first year
of intercollegiate tennis. |
