Men's Basketball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Co-ROOKIES OF THE WEEK

Anthony Joyner, Becker (Fr. F - Worcester, Mass.)
Joyner averaged 28 points and 16 rebounds per game in a 1-2 week for Becker. In their first conference win of the year, Joyner hit for a career high 40 points and 22 rebounds in a 97-92 overtime win at Lesley. Earlier in the week, the freshman led the team with 22 points and 13 rebounds against Coast Guard and dropped 24 points with 14 rebounds on Nichols.

Jordan Heath, Husson (Fy. G - Bangor, Maine)
Heath led the Eagles in scoring this week with a career high 24 points against Maine Maritime. The first year guard also chipped in 4 steals and 2 rebounds. Heath finished the game 8-14 from the floor while hitting 5-9 from behind the arch.

Aecio Madeira, Thomas (Fr. F/C - Providence, R.I.)
Madeira averaged 20.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in a 1-2 week for the Terriers. The freshman center scored 27 points and grabbed six rebounds in an 85-80 victory over New England College in Thomas' first win of the season. Madeira contributed 24 points with six boards in a loss to St. Joseph's (Maine).

Women's Basketball

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Michelle Gott, Maine Maritime (Jr. F - Bar Harbor, Maine)
Gott averaged 19 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals as the Lady Mariners went 2-0 on the week. In a 59-50 victory over in-state and conference rival Husson, the junior forward scored 18 points with 15 rebounds and four steals.

Kari Simpson, Me.-Farmington (Jr. F - Wells, Maine)
Simpson averaged 21.7 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 58% from the floor and 50% (8-16) from three-point range leading UMF to a 3-0 week. In a win over then-No. 17 Bates, the junior forward contributed 23 points and 10 rebounds. Simpson posted a career-high 28 points in a 72-57 win over UNE.

Paige Schneider, Elms (Fr. F - Windsor, Conn.)
Schneider averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals to help lead the Blazers to conference road victories over Lesley and Bay Path. Schneider poured in a collegiate career-high 19 points with four assists and four steals in Tuesday's 63-53 win at Lesley.
