Baseball

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Justin Spencer, Husson (Sr. CF - Brewer, Maine)
In a 4-1 week for the Eagles, including three NAC victories, Spencer hit 6-15 (.400) with 3 extra base hits, with 3 singles and one triple. The senior centerfielder scored 6 runs and had 5 RBI as Husson kept pace in the NAC standings.

Charlie Furbush, St. Joseph's (ME) (So. P/1B - South Portland, Maine)
In four appearances this week, Furbush picked up two wins over Elms and two saves (USM, Becker). In 7.2 innings of work, the sophomore struck out 13 batters, allowed no hits, no runs and no walks. At the plate, Furbush hit 2 triples, scored 5 runs and added an RBI and 3 walks on the week.

Wade Oliver, St. Joseph's (ME) (Fr. OF - Owls Head, Maine)
Oliver went 6-for-10 with 3 runs and 3 RBI including a double, a triple and a home run. Also had 1 BB, 1 SB and 6 PO. The freshman provided the game winning run in game 2 against Elms with a walk-off home run in the 8th.

Softball

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Carolyn McAvoy, Husson (Jr. SS/P - Brewer, Maine)
McAvoy was 13-27 on the week batting .481, leading the Eagles to a 7-4 mark on the week with a 5-1 NAC record.  The junior had 9 extra base hits with 5 doubles, one triple and 3 homeruns. McAvoy drove in 10 runs and scored 15. She was also 2-1 on the week as a starting pitcher.

Mary Berry, Maine-Farmington (Sr. 1B/OF - Norridgewock, Maine)
Berry hit .500 (14-for-28) with six doubles and 11 RBI in an eight-game week for UMF, as the Beavers posted a 6-2 mark, including six-straight NAC wins to close the week. Berry was especially effective in a pair of weekend sweeps against Johnson State and Castleton State, hitting .750 (9-for-12) in the four games with four doubles, one triple and 10 RBI. For the week, Berry slugged .786 and posted a .589 on-base percentage.

Heather Rose, Lasell (Fr. IF - West Roxbury, Mass.)
Rose went 9 for 15 (.600) last week scoring eight runs, stealing three bases and knocking in four RBI.

Men's Lacrosse

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Matt VanDerKar, Castleton State (Jr. M - Manchester, Vt.)
VanDerKar led Castleton to a 3-0 week, including conference wins over Daniel Webster and Maine Maritime to secure the second seed in the upcoming NAC tournament, with 13 goals, 5 assists and 37 ground balls. In an 18-7 win over Daniel Webster, the junior middie had 5 goals and 2 assists, while scooping up 18 ground balls. He was also perfect on the face-off.  In a key league win over Maine Maritime, VanDerKar led the Spartans to a 14-6 win over Maine Maritime with 4 goals and 7 ground balls. The victory guaranteed the Spartans of a home tournament game.
Brett Conley, Mount Ida (Fr. A - Fairfield, Conn.)
Freshman Brett Conley collected 12 points on seven goals and five assists to propel Mount Ida to a perfect 2-0 mark last week. He recorded four goals and three helpers in a 20-4 victory over Emerson College on Wednesday. The attacker then totaled a hat trick and two assists in the Mustangs 23-4 win over Johnson State College on Saturday. Mount Ida is a flawless 7-0 in NAC play.

Men's Tennis

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Trevor Kelson, Johnson State (Sr. Bridgewater, Mass.)
Kelson was named MVP of the NAC Men's Tennis Championships over the weekend winning the #1 flight in singles play and combined with Jason Mann to win the #1 doubles flight as well. Kelson helped Johnson State to a second-place team finish.
