Field Hockey

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kaieligh Barker, Maine-Farmington
(Junior, Goalkeeper - Chicester, N.H.)

Barker was perfect in goal during a 2-0 week for UMF, spearheading a defense that held a pair of NAC opponents scoreless. In a 2-0 win over Husson on Sunday, Barker turned away 11 shots to preserve the victory after the Braves held a 13-4 advantage in shots in the opening half.
Laura Gallagher, Lasell
(Sophomore, Goalkeeper - Westwood, Mass.)

Playing her first year of field hockey, Gallagher shut out Regis College and Becker College last week, playing 95 minutes, making 4 saves and allowing no goals.

Men's Soccer

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jon Cowie, Husson
(Junior, Goalkeeper - Madawaska, Maine)

Cowie recorded two shutouts in conference play this weekend. He had 3 saves against 5 shots in a 1-0 win over Johnson and then recorded 6 saves on 8 shots in a 1-0 win against Castleton. Husson is now 8-1-1 and 4-0 in NAC play.

Hiroshi Iwabuchi, Husson
(First Year, Midfielder - Ibaraki-ken, Japan)

Iwabuchi factored in both game winning goals in a pair of conference wins for the Eagles. He assisted on the game winner against Johnson and scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Castleton State. Husson is now 8-1-1 and 4-0 in NAC play.

Women's Soccer

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ashley Fisher, Mount Ida
(Junior, Midfielder - Millbury, Mass.)

Junior Ashley Fisher racked up six points in a 4-0 week for Mount Ida. The midfielder notched two goals and assisted on two others, as the Mustangs extended their winning streak to seven games. Fisher tallied once in Mount Ida's 3-1 triumph at Lesley University on Monday. She recorded three points on a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over Emmanuel College on Wednesday, and added one helper in the Mustangs 2-1 win at Thomas College on Sunday.

Samantha Homer, Husson
(First Year, Forward - Charlton, Mass.)

Homer had two goals and one assist on the weekend which the Eagles recorded two conference wins. She recorded a goal and an assists in a 4-0 win over Johnson State and then had the game winning goal in a 2-0 win over Castleton State.

Volleyball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Katelyn Rasich, Lasell
(Junior, Setter - Hellertown, Pa.)

Rasich totaled 49 assists (7.0 per game) as the Laser defeated Elms College (3-0) and Becker College (3-1) this week.

Marion Kish, Husson
(First Year -  Wallingford, Conn.)

Kish had a career high 22 assists in a conference win over Lesley College. She finished the week with 51 assists (4.6 per game) along with 27 kills, 15 service aces and 26 digs. The Eagles were 3-0 this week with two conference wins.

Women's Tennis

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Keri Christensen, Bay Path
(Sophomore -  Middletown, R.I.)

Christensen led the "Wildcats to a 2-1 week with and was perfect 5-0 with #6 singles wins against Saint Joseph College, CT and Pine Manor College. She also won doubles matches as well again St. Joseph, Pine Manor and Newbury.

Men's Cross Country

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Drew Croteau, Maine-Farmington
(Senior - Durham, Conn.)

Croteau ran a 28:52.82 over the 4.97-mile course at the UMF Invitational on Saturday to finish in second place among the 49 runners in the highly-competitive field.

Michael Sterns, Johnson State
(Freshman - Hinesburg, Vt.)

Stearns helped the Badgers to a 7th place team finish at the Vermont Cross Country Championships. Stearns finished the race in 29:46, good enough for 54th place overall.

Women's Cross Country

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Katie Sprowl, Castleton State
(Junior - Manchester, N.H.)

Sprowl led the Spartans to a fourth place finish at the Vermont State Championships by running a personal best 20:09.4 in the 5K event. Sprowl finished with all-state honors, finishing in 12th position.

Emily Farley, Maine-Farmington
(Freshman - Mount Desert Island, Maine)

For the third time in as many competitions, Farley was the top UMF finisher, this time racing to a fifth-place finish at the UMF Invitational. Farley posted a time of 21:09.04, just :35 behind the top finisher. Thus far in her collegiate career, she has posted top 10 finishes in all three of her races.
