Renato Lindmets, Elms
(Junior, Forward - Springfield, Mass.)
Lindmets averaged 20.0 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting
54% from the field in two games to help lead the Blazers to
their first-ever Eastern Connecticut Tip-Off Tournament title
last weekend. Lindmets, who was named Tournament MVP, registered
21 points and nine rebounds in the victory over Mitchell, then
followed with a game-high 19-point, 14-rebound effort in
Sunday's title win over host Eastern Connecticut State. |
Martin Cleveland, Husson
(First Year, Center - Portland, Maine)
Cleveland helped guide the Eagles to a 1-1 start this weekend at
the Plymouth State Tip Off Tournament. Cleveland recorded a
double double in the second game with 16 points and 11
rebounds. In the first game he finished with 15 points and 5
rebounds. Cleveland was named to the All-Tournament team. He
was 11-18 from the field and 9-12 from the foul line for the
weekend. |

Kristin Karat, Becker
(Sophomore, Guard - Enfield, Conn.)
Karat hit for 33 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block and 3 assists in
her first game as a Lady Hawk. The sophomore guard helped the
Hawks (1-0) overcome an 8 point halftime deficit to beat Pine
Manor College 66-58. In a one minute span in the second half
Kristin hit three consecutive three pointers and turned being
down by two points to having a 4 point lead and the Hawks never
trailed again. |
Shelby Pickering, Husson
(First Year, Forward - Lee, Maine)
Fresh off the soccer field Pickering averaged 16 points per game
and helped the Eagles to a 1-1 start. Against #3 Southern Maine,
the first year forward was held to 4 points and 5 rebounds.
Pickering followed that up with 30 points and 9 rebounds in a
93-92 win over Bridgewater State, including the game winning
basket with 1 second remaining. She was 12-16 from the floor and
6-6 from the foul line against Bridgewater. |
