Men's Basketball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Doug Williams, Mount Ida
(Senior, Forward - Ellicot City, Md.)

Senior Doug Williams exploded for 27.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest in a 1-1 week for Mount Ida. The forward collected six assists, two blocks and a pair of steals in addition to shooting a sizzling 59.5% (22-37) from the floor in 79 minutes played. Williams collected a career best 31 points on 13-of-22 shooting from the field in the Mustangs 98-87 triumph over Lesley University on Tuesday. He also grabbed 11 rebounds in the contest to complete his second double-double of the year and fifth of his career. Williams then tallied 23 points and six rebounds, as Mount Ida fell 65-64 at Rivier College 79-62 on Thursday.

Martin Cleveland, Husson
(First Year, Center - Portland, Maine)

Cleveland help pace Husson shooting 69.5% in two wins last week connecting on 16-23 shots. He had 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a 86-75 win over Elms College. In limited minutes, Cleveland had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks leading the Eagles to a 87-48 win against Becker College. The Eagles were 2-0 this week, pushing their record to 6-1 and 4-0 in the NAC.

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Adrienne Xenos, Mount Ida
(Senior, Forward - Brockton, Mass.)

Senior Adrienne Xenos piled up 23.0 points and 12.0 rebounds contest, as she led Mount Ida to a 1-1 week. The forward was near perfect, shooting 85.7% (18-21) from the floor. She tallied ten steals, three blocks and a pair of assists in 61 minutes played during the two contests. Xenos went 9-of-10 from the floor en route to recording 20 points, ten rebounds and six steals in the Mustangs 98-47 in over Lesley University on Tuesday. Xenos followed that with a 23 point, 14 board performance versus the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday. She shot 9-of-10 in the contest, made four steals and a pair of blocks.

Shelly Szkutak, Johnson State
(Sophomore, Forward - Lake Placid, N.Y.)

In the two conference road wins, Skzutak averaged 25 points, 12 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 steals while shooting 65% (15-23) from the field. In a 73-58 victory at Lesley, the sophomore scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. In an 80-70 win at Lasell, Szkutak scored 24 poitns with 11 boards. The sophomore pulled down 10 boards in a non-conference victory earlier in the week to keep her streak of double figure rebounds at eight straight games.

Caitlyn Laflin, Maine-Farmington
(Freshman, Forward - Farmingdale, Maine)

Laflin averaged 13.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in a 2-1 week for UMF, which included a pair of NAC victories. She opened the week with a 20-point effort in a loss at Bates, then scored 10 points in back-to-back games vs. Wheelock and Bay Path, playing just 16 minutes in each contest. She also hauled down eight rebounds against Wheelock and chipped in eight steals during the two conference games.
