Men's Basketball

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Joe Chatman, Lesley
(Junior, Guard - Boston, Mass.)

Chatman  averaged 25.5 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 2.5 assists as the Lynx went 1-1 in two conference games. Chatman had one of his best games this season as he exploded for 35 points and 7 rebounds keeping Lesley close in a loss to  conference unbeaten Lasell. In a win over Becker, the junior guard was 8-9 from the free throw line for 16 points with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. On the week Chatman shot 57% from the floor and 94% from the charity stripe.

Jamie Crawford, Lasell
(Junior, Forward - Coral Springs, Fla.)
Crawford averaged 25.0 points per game while shooting 61% from the floor and 64% from the three point line. in three conference wins for the Lasers this week. In an 89-78 victory over Lesley to start the week, the junior forward scored 28 points knocking down 7-of-10 from 3-point range. To finish the week in an 83-76 win at Castleton, Crawford dropped 30 again hitting 7-of-10 from behind the arc.

Brock Bradford, Husson
(First Year, Guard - Kenduskeag, Maine)

The Eagles were 1-0 this week with a 64-61 win over Maine Maritime. Bradford had 11 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. The first year shooting guard was 4-5 from the field and 2-3 from behind the 3-point arch.

Women's Basketball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kari Simpson, Maine-Farmington
(Senior, Forward - Wells, Maine)

Simpson averaged 22.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Beavers, which included a 66-62 overtime win vs. previously-undefeated and nationally-ranked Maine Maritime. In that game, Simpson totaled 24 points and 11 rebounds, also blocking a shot at the end of regulation to preserve the tie. Her put back in the final minute of regulation tied the game and, in overtime, she converted two free throws that provided the final margin of victory. On Saturday at Thomas, Simpson finished with 21 points and seven rebounds in Farmington's 11th-straight conference victory. She shot 53.6% from the floor and 50.0 from three-point range during the two games.

Claudia Martineau, Johnson State
(Freshman, Center - Washington, Vermont)

Martineau averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting .500 (15-30) from the field and connecting on all six of her free throws in a 1-1 week for Johnson State.
