Tom Cummings, Castleton
(Junior, Pitcher - Athol, Mass.)
Cummings was a true ace this week, going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in
two complete games. In a midweek clash with nationally-ranked
R.P.I. Cummings allowed two earned on five hits while striking
out six. In Saturday's shut-out at Elms the junior righty struck
out nine and allowed just two hits. Cummings held his opponents
to .143 batting average against, with a 15/6 strikeout/walk
ration. |
Travis Bass, Castleton
(Freshman, Shortstop - West Hartford, Conn.)
Bass started all four games for Castleton this week, leading off
and playing a solid shortstop, handling all chances. The
freshman batted .375 with three doubles, four RBI and two runs
scored. He was also 1-1 in stolen base attempts. |

Sarah Wilson, Lesley
(Sophomore, Third Base - Lowell, Mass.)
Despite the fact that the Lynx played just two games this week
Wilson was able to rack up 9 RBI in those two games. In the two
games Wilson batted 4-6 (.667) with 2 HR's and 6 runs scored.
Wilson slugged a whopping 1.667 in the two games with an OPS of
2.417. |
Alyssa Skewes, Elms
(Freshman, Pitcher - Ellington, Conn.)
Skewes went a perfect 4-0 that included a pair of victories
conference foe Johnson State. Against Johnson State last
Saturday, Skewes threw a complete-game, one-hitter in the first
game, then fired a perfect-game in the nightcap. She recorded
eight strikeouts in each win over the Badgers. Skewes also
registered complete-game victories over Smith and Castleton. |

Brian Abrahamson, Daniel Webster
(Sophomore, Attacker - Dedham, Mass.)
In the Eagles lone game, Abrahamson notched three goals
including the overtime game winner in an 8-7 win at Maine
Maritime. The sophomore added an assist and three ground balls.
Brett Conley, Mount Ida
(Sophomore, Attacker - Fairfield, Conn.)
Sophomore Brett Conley racked up nine points on seven goals and
a pair of assists in Mount Ida's 16-3 triumph over North
Atlantic Conference foe Maine Maritime on Saturday. The
attackman's 33 points and 23 goals thus far this season are both
Mustang highs. |
Adam McKellar, Daniel Webster
(Freshman, Goalkeeper - Biddeford, Maine)
McKellar won his third straight decision in an 8-7 overtime win
at Maine Maritime, registering 21 saves including eight in the
fourth quarter. |
Men's Tennis

Jesse Maranda, Castleton
(Sophomore - Waitsfield, Vt.)
Maranda led the Spartans to a North Atlantic Conference victory
over Becker College on Saturday. The sophomore won his #2
singles match with ease 6-2, 6-0 and followed that up with a 8-6
win in #3 doubles. |
Neil Perron, Johnson State
(Freshman - Quechee, Vt.)
Perron helped JSC to a 7-2 victory over Becker College in the
Badgers only match of the week. Perron defeated his #1 singles
opponent 12-4 and then paired with Dylan Louko to win in #1
doubles 8-1. |
