NAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK 

Carolyn Griggs, Castleton State College
(Jr., Forward - Lincoln, VT)
Griggs scored a pair of goals on four shots in Castleton's 2-0 victory over Becker in the Spartans' only contest of the week.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Denise Perks, Elms College
(Fr., M - Blackstone, MA)
Perks netted her first two collegiate goals to help Elms College post a 4-0 non-conference win at Regis College last Thursday.

NAC Golf Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Adam Duplisea, Husson
(JR, - Hermon, ME)
The Eagles won two tournaments over the weekend, the State of Maine Collegiate Championship and the UMF Invitational. Duplisea finished 2nd in the State Championship with at two day total of 153 (+11). He followed that up finishing in a tie for first in the UMF Invitational losing on matching cards with a 79 (+7). Duplisea was named to the All-Maine team.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Josh Gallagher, Husson
(FY, - Winslow, ME)
Gallagher playing is his first tournament of his career posted a two day total of 155 (+13) good for 3rd play in the State of Maine Colligate Championship. He followed that up with an 81 (+9) at the UMF Invitational finishing in 8th place. Gallagher was named 1st Team All-Maine.

NAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brian Lemont, Me.-Farmington
(JR, GK - Brunswick, ME)
Brian Lemont has allowed one goal over 310 minutes of manning the pipes as the Beavers opened their season at 1-0-2. Lemont made 10 saves -- including a penalty kick and a free kick -- in UMF's 1-1 season-opening tie at USM on Tuesday (the Beavers were outshot 23-7). Lemont also made six saves in a 0-0 stalemate at Thomas on Saturday and four stops in a 1-0 over visiting Mitchell on Sunday.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 

Andrew Pelletier, Thomas College
(Freshman, Forward - Topsham, Maine)
Pelletier scored 3 goals in as many games helping lead the Thomas College Terriers to a win and two ties. The freshman forward scored twice in a 3-0 win over Southern Vermont and scored the first of two comeback goals for the Terriers as they earned a 2-2 tie with Green Mountain.

NAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jodi Fralick , Lesley University
(SO, S - Woburn, MA)
Jodi continued to show her leadership for the Lynx as she scored 5 goals and had 2 assists totaling 12 points for the week. She contributed to a 3-0-0 record for the Lynx on the week.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ashley Ledoux, Castleton State College
(Fr., Forward - Swanton, VT)
In a 2-1 week Ledoux scored her first collegiate goals for the Spartans. Ledoux scored both goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 conference win at Wheelock.

NAC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

Co-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Raquel Babeu, Bay Path College
(Jr., 1st Singles - North Adams, MA)
Raquel finished the week with 3 wins at #1 singles and 3 wins at #1 doubles and not losing a set in leading Bay Path College to a 3-0 week and a 5-0 start to the season.

Allison Flynn, Becker College
(Jr, - Wilmington, MA)
Flynn led the Hawks to a 2-0 (2-0 NAC) week with conference wins over Castleton and Johnson State. The reining NAC Player of the Year went 4-0. Allison dropped the first set vs. Castleton 1-6, won the second set 6-3 and then dominated the tiebreaker 10-3. Flynn paired with freshman Catie Sivert also won in doubles 8-3. In the 9-0 win vs. Johnson State Flynn again won her singles match 6-4, 6-3 and coupled with Sivert won the doubles match 8-4.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Catie Sivret, Becker College
(Fr, - Stow, MA)
Sivret went 4-0 in match play and help lead the Hawks to a 2-0 (2-0 NAC) week. In a 6-3 conference win over Castleton the freshman won her number two singles match 6-2, 6-3 and paired with Allison Flynn took the doubles match 8-3. Sivret dominated at Johnson State where she didn't drop a game in her singles match 6-0, 6-0 and again the duo of Flynn/Sivert won in doubles 8-4.

NAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rachel Pinak, Becker College
(Jr, MH - Cheektowaga, NY)
Pinak recorded 38 kills, 28 digs and 8 aces for the Lady Hawks who went 2-2 (2-0 NAC) last week. In clutch conference match-ups Rachel had 16 kills, 4 assists, 9 digs and 2 aces in a 3-1 win over Bay Path College and 9 kills, 2 assists, 6 digs and 2 aces in a 3-0 win over Castleton State College.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jeannette Nunez, Elms College
(Fr., OH - Canovanas, Puerto Rico)
Nunez tallied 55 kills, 24 aces, 89 digs and three block solos in four matches (18 games) to help Elms College to a 2-2 record on the week, including a split of last Saturday's conference tri-match.

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Francis Cusick, Lesley University
(JR, - Lexington, MA)
Frannie got back to old form as he ran an impressive 27:23 at the UMASS Dartmouth Invitational to help lead the men's team.

 

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Tim Millett, Me.-Farmington
(FR, - Gorham, ME)
Tim Millett was UMF's top finisher at the UMass-Dartmouth Shriners' Invitational on Saturday. Millett placed 104th out of 225 runners at 28:09 in a five-mile race. The Beavers placed 23 out of 31 teams and ahead of defending NAC champions Castleton.

 

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Nemesia Sorcar, Johnson State College
(Fr., Runner - Kensington, N.H.)
Sorcar completed the Panther Invitational course at Middlebury College in a time of 24:16.0 for a 47th overall individual finish in an fourth-place team effort for JSC on 9/15.

 

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Charlotte Goff, Lesley University
(FR)
Charlotte ran a 20:51 at the UMASS Dartmouth Invitational beating Sage Small (21:13) of Castleton State. She had won rookie of the week last week.
