NAC Softball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Shawna Bell, Husson
(Sr., Catcher - Corinth, ME)
Going 6-0 in conference action this week, Bell posted a .529 batting average going 9 for 17 at the plate. She had 1 double, 1 triple, 4 homeruns, 8 RBI's, 5 walks and scored 11 runs. She also hit in the tieing run in the 7th inning on a triple against Lesley.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Megan Richard, Husson
(Fr., DP - Wilton, ME)
Richard helped lead the Eagles to a 6-0 record in conference play this week going 10 for 18 (.555) at the plate. She had 2 doubles, 3 triples, and 1 homerun, with 7 RBI's. She also scored 6 runs and had 3 walks.

NAC Baseball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mike Chamard, Thomas
(Sr., OF - Livermore Falls, Maine)
Mike Chamard, a fourth year player from Livermore Falls, Maine went batted .521 12-for-23. He knocked in 6 RBI, and 8 runs scored. In two conference wins over UMF, Chamard was 5-9 at the plate with 4 runs scored and four stolen bases.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Brendan Cordeiro, Elms
(Fr., SS - Berkley, MA)
Cordeiro went a combined 2 for 6 with a double and two RBI, including what proved to be the eventual game-winning RBI sacrifice fly to plate the lone run in a 1-0 win over Husson that completed a conference doubleheader sweep for the Blazers.

NAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Josh Fask, Becker
(So., A - Worcester, MA)
Josh Fask had 13 goals and 6 assists for the Hawks who went 3-0 last week. In a 9-7 win over Emerson College Fask had 2 goals and 3 assists. Becker picked up its first conference win with the victory. In a 19-7 win over Lyndon State Josh had a career high 6 goals and 2 assists and in the second conference win of the week a 10-9 decision over Johnson State Fask had 5 goals and 1 assist.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Matt Savage, Mount Ida
(Fr, A - Peabody, MA)
Freshman attackman Matt Savage (Peabody, MA/Peabody) netted six goals and one assist in two games this past week against two North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponents. Savage would help keep his team perfect in league play.

NAC Men's Tennis Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Justin Garritt, Castleton
(Fr., #3 singles, #2 doubles - Liberty, NY)
Garritt was perfect in a 3-1 week for the Spartans, including three NAC wins. In four #3 singles matches Garritt did not drop a set, and lost just 25 games over that span in wins versus Norwich, Johnson State, Becker and Thomas. In #2 doubles, paired with Ted Panasci, Garritt led the chage, again going 4-0 on the week.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Corey Sherman, Becker College
(FR., #1 Singles - Taunton, MA)
Sherman, Becker's #1 singles player went 3-1 and 4-0 in doubles last week to lead the Hawks to a 2-2 week. In Conference play Corey picked up two wins while only losing one game. He defeated the #1 Castleton player 6-1, 6-0 and the #1 Johnson player 6-0, 6-0. Paired with Chris Parker as #1 doubles the duo defeated Lyndon State(8-1), Lesley University (8-5), Castleton (8-2) and Johnson State (8-5).
