Mike Ross, Thomas

Mike Ross scored 16 goals to guide the Terriers to a perfect 3-0
week. Ross also contributed with 3 assists and 17 ground balls.
Mike controlled 23 out of the 30 face-offs.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Craig MacDerment, Castleton
(Fr., Midfield - Glenville, NY)
MacDerment tallied six points in a 2-0 week for Castleton. The
freshman midfielder scored two goals and handed out four assists.
MacDerment was also 18-for-25 (.720) on face-offs and corralled 15
ground balls on the week

NAC Baseball Weekly Honors
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brad Polcare, Castleton
(Sr., 2B - Saratoga Springs, NY)
Polcare sparked the Castleton offense to a 6-1 week, including a
4-0 week in conference action. Polcare was 10-for-24 (.417) with
four doubles, one homerun, eight RBI and 10 runs scored from the
lead-off spot. The speedy second baseman stole three bases, slugged
.708, and had an on base percentage of .500.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Andrew Dean, Me.-Farmington
(FR, OF/P - Gorham, ME)
Dean shined in his collegiate debut on the mound for the Beavers.
The freshman tossed six innings of four-hit shutout ball for
Farmington in a victory over Presque Isle. The regular
rightfielder, Dean also clubbed two hits with an RBI in a loss to
Bates.

NAC Men's Tennis Weekly Honors
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zach Rocha, Lesley University
(Jr., #1 Singles/#1 Doubles - New Bedford, Mass.)
Junior Zach Rocha won all three of his #1 singles match ups this
week against Rhode Island College (6-2, 6-1), Johnson State College
(6-3, 6-0), and Castleton State College (6-1, 6-1) in straight
sets. He even won two out of three #1 doubles competitions that he
played in.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Justin Garritt, Castleton
(Fr., #3 singles, #2 doubles - Liberty, NY)
Garritt stretched his singles record to 12-1, and his doubles
record to 10-1 on the season with a 3-0 record in both this week.
Garritt did not drop a set in #3 singles en route to the perfect
week. Teamed with Ted Panasci the freshman won all three #2 doubles
matches as Castleton wrapped up its conference schedule undefeated.

NAC Softball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Smith, Thomas
2008, Pitcher - Bucksport, ME)
Smith went 6-0 this past week to keep the Terriers unbeaten in the
NAC. Smith pitched 43 innings, striking out 41, walking only 4
batters, and lowering her ERA to 1.14.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alyson Durben, Lesley
(FR, OF - Stow, Mass.)
The Lynx went undefeated on the week, including 6-0 against the
conference opponents Elms, Johnson, and Castleton. Durben batted
.433 on the week with 11 runs scored and 12 runs batted in. She had
four doubles, a triple, and three stolen bases. The outfielder is
now batting .469 in her rookie season.
