NAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kayla Nowell, Saint Joseph's College (Me.)
(Sophomore, Forward - Bridgton, Maine)
Nowell scored two goals and added two assists in a 2-1 week for Saint Joseph's. The sophomore tallied game-winning goals vs. Husson University on October 13th and Colby College, in the second overtime period, on October 16th.

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jillian Morin, Husson University
(Fy, F - Manchester, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week. Morin had 3 assists and a goal. She had an assist on the Eagles first goal and then scored the game winning goal in a 4-3 overtime win at Framingham State. Morin had 2 assists in a 4-0 win over UMF.

NAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

James Tollefson, Me.-Farmington
(FR, F - Middletown, RI)
Tollefson scored four goals with an assist in a 2-0 week for Farmington. The freshman notched a hat trick in the Beavers' 6-4 NAC win at Thomas on Saturday. He also scored a goal and assisted on another in Farmington's 3-1 win over the University of Southern Maine.

 

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Tyler Metevier, Husson University
(Fy, F - Kittery, ME)
The Eagles were 1-1 this week with a NAC overtime win over MMA 2-1. Metevier had 2 goals and assist, factoring in all of Husson's scoring for the week. He had both goals in the 2-1 win over MMA to keep Husson unbeaten in NAC play. Metevier assisted on Husson's only goal in a 3-1 loss to Bowdoin.

NAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Megan LaJoie, Husson University
(SO, D/F - Van Buren, ME)
The Eagles were 1-0 in NAC play this week along with two tough 1 goal losses to Bates and Bowdoin. LaJoie tied a school record with 5 goals in a 8-0 win over MMA. She played the first 20 minutes of the game on defense before she exploded for 5 straight goals.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Maria Arnot, Castleton State College
(Fr., Forward - Milford, NY)
Arnot helped Castleton to a 1-1 record this week, scoring three goals. In a mid-week loss to Plymouth State, Arnot tied the game at 2-2 in the second half, before Castleton fell 3-2. Arnot then scored a pair of goals in a 3-0 North Atlantic Conference win at Green Mountain.

NAC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sue Promphong, Lyndon State
(Junior, St. Johnsbury, Vt.)
Promphong earned two of Lyndon State's four victories (both in singles) at Saturday's Vermont State College Tournament, held at Castleton State College. Earlier in the week, she recorded one singles win and another in doubles, with partner Jenn Falsetti, as LSC defeated arch-rival Johnson State 5-4.

NAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

CO-PLAYERS OF THE  WEEK

Amy Young, Maine Maritime Academy
(Junior, Middle Hitter - Cumberland, ME)
Amy had an outstanding week leading the Lady Mariners to a 3-0 record this week with wins over Husson, Thomas and UMaine Farmington. Young had 10 kills on 18 attempts (.444%) with 9 digs and 2 blocks in MMA's 3-0 win over Husson. She followed that up with 10 kills on 12 attempts (.750%) to go along with 6 aces in their win over Thomas. She ended her weekend with a 9 kill performance against the Beavers while collecting 3 aces, 11 digs and 2 blocks.

 

Marion Kish, Husson University
(JR, S - Wallingford, CT)
The Eagles were 2-1 this week, going 2-0 in NAC play and securing the #1 overall seed. Kish had 60 assists, 9 aces, and 9 digs in three matches this week. She had 45 assists in the two conference wins.

Heather Moore, Maine Maritime Academy
(Freshman, Setter - Macedon, NY)
The freshman setter helped MMA to a 3-0 week collecting 72 assists, 8 kills on 14 attempts, and 6 service aces.

 

 

 

 

 

Kaityln McKay, Husson University
(Fy, MH - Lincoln, RI)
The Eagles secured the #1 seed with two NAC wins this week, finishing the week 2-1. McKay had 18 kills, 7 aces, 6 digs, 7 solo blocks, and 4 block assists on the week. She recorded 5 solo blocks and 3 block assists along with 6 kills and 3 aces in the match against UMF.

NAC Cross Country Weekly Honors

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Jeffrey Paul, Castleton State College
(Jr., - Wallingford, CT)
Paul led Castleton to a sixth place finish at the Western New England College Invitational, finishing in 16th place out of 129 runners. Paul finished the 8,000 meter course in 28:19.

 

 

 

 

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Craig Johnson, Lyndon State
(Fr, - North Kingstown, RI)
Freshman Craig Johnson placed 4th overall and was the top Lyndon State finisher at the Saint Michael's/University of Vermont Tri-Meet. Johnson set a 8K PR of 27:58.

 

 

 

 

 

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Maggie Klein, Castleton State College
(Jr., - Castleton, VT)
Klein set a new personal best in the 5,000 meter race at the Western New England College Invitational. Klein toured the course in 19:13, finishing first out of 150 competitors. It was the second win of the season for Klein and helped the Spartans to a third-place finish out of 20 teams.

 

 

 

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

(FR, - Charlestown, NH)
At the State of Maine Championships, St. Pierre was the first Farmington runner to cross the finish line on the 5K course in 21st place at 20:01.93
