NAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Carolyn Griggs, Castleton State College
(Sr., Forward - Lincoln, VT)
Griggs led Castleton to a 2-0 week with three goals and one assist. In a 5-4, penalty-stroke win over Rensselaer Polytechnic, Griggs scored a pair of goals to lead the offense. Saturday Griggs scored a goal and assisted on the game winner in a 2-1 win over Farmington to clinch the #1 seed in the NAC Tournament.

 

 

 

Erica Dorso, Husson University
(Sr, F - Farmingdale, ME)
Dorso lead the Eagles in two NAC wins this week scoring 7 goals and assisting on 4 others. Dorso had 3 goals and 1 assist in a 6-1 win over Lasell College. She factored in 7 of 9 goals in a 9-3 win over Simmons, scoring 4 goals and 3 assists. Dorso became the career scoring leader for the Eagles with 112 points.

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jillian Morin, Husson University
(Fy, F - Manchester, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week with two NAC wins. Morin had a goal and an assist in the two games. She assisted on a goal in a 6-1 win over Lasell and scored a goal in the 9-3 win over Simmons.

NAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jeff Truchon, Husson University
(Sr, F - Greene, ME)
The Eagles earned the #1 seed in the upcoming NAC Tournament by winning their only game on the week. Truchon had the game winning goal in a 1-0 win over U. Maine Farmington.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jacob Ferry, Castleton State College
(Fr., Midfield - Warwick, RI)
Ferry scored three goals in two games this week. In a 4-3 loss to Plymouth State, Ferry scored his first collegiate goal. The freshman followed that up with a two goal performance, including the game winner, in Saturday's regular season finale at Johnson State.

NAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Monique Couture, Green Mountain College
(Senior, Midfielder - Santa Barbara, CA)
Couture scored the game winning goal and added an insurance goal, giving her two goals in Green Mountain's 3-2 victory over Lyndon State. The win helped GMC secure the #4 seed and a home playoff game in the NAC quarterfinals.

 

 

 

 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Courtney Chadburn, Castleton State College
(So. (Rookie), Forward - North Clarendon, VT)
Chadburn led the Spartans to a 2-0 week with three goals and two assists. In a 2-1 win at SUNY-Cobleskill, Chadburn had an assist and scored the game winner in the 70th minute of play. Saturday Chadburn scored two goals, including the game winner and added an assist as Castleton defeated Johnson State in its regular season finale.

NAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Marion Kish, Husson University
(Jr, s - Wallingford, CT)
The Eagles won their only match this week 3-0 over Thomas. Kish had 25 asssits, 7 digs, and 6 service aces in the win. Husson was undefeated in NAC play and earned the #1 seed.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Shannon Mitchell, Me.-Farmington
(FR, RS - Portsmouth, NH)
Mitchell collected 11 kills with one error in 22 attacks (.455 hitting percentage) in a 3-0 NAC win over Lyndon State -- the Beavers' only game last week. Mitchell also had four digs, a solo block and a block assist.

NAC Cross Country Weekly Honors

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Lyndsay Calkins, Lyndon State
(Senior - Danville, VT)
Lyndsay Calkins placed 9th out of 267 women at the RPI Invitational. She covered the 5K course in 18:17.

 

 

 

 

 

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Allynne O'Hearn, Lyndon State
(Freshman - Pelham, NH)
Allynne O'Hearn ran as Lyndon's number two runner for the fifth consecutive race by covering the 5K course in a season PR of 21:25.

 

 

 

 

 

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Craig Johnson, Lyndon State
(Freshman - North Kingstown, RI))
Craig Johnson placed 79th overall out of 306 runners and was the top Lyndon State finisher at the RPI Invitational finishing in the 8K  in 27:43.

 

 

 

 

 

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Wildens Fils, Lyndon State
(Freshman - Stamford, CT)
Wildens Fils placed 109th overall out of 306 runners and was Lyndon State's number two runner for the second consecutive week. Fils completed the 8K in a time of 28:39.
