Brief School Profile:
Mount Ida College was founded in 1899. Both the academic challenges and the vigorous tradition of involvement in campus life have prepared students for positions of leadership in every walk of life. The traditional academic disciplines have always provided a solid foundation for learning. Mount Ida?s academic programs emphasize basic learning skills and its mission focuses on a student-centered education offering rigorous, academic, leadership and service learning opportunities. All the people, programs and facilities at Mount Ida are directed towards success in undergraduate education. The student/faculty ratio is 9:1, and small classes throughout the curriculum give every student both access, recognition and opportunities to develop personal and professional excellence.
Mount Ida is a different kind of four year college. Housed within four professional schools of study and the New England Institute it uniquely integrates liberal arts with professional education. Applied Management can be experienced in niche programs ranging from computer animation, interior and graphic design, sports management, dental hygiene, funeral home management, child development, criminal justice and veterinary technology.
Transferring potential into achievement is the focus of everything we do at the college from the sports laboratory to residence life to accelerated classrooms. Mount Ida?s All-College curriculum is designed to complement and reinforce what a student learns in their major; allowing them to develop skills of critical thinking needed in the world today. Personal attention is a hallmark of the Mount Ida experience leaving one confident to contribute to those who need locally as well as globally.
