UMF's Pratt named Maine Field Hockey Hall of Fame inductee

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington assistant athletics director and field hockey and softball coach Cyndi Pratt was inducted into the Maine Field Hockey Hall of Fame on Dec. 6 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Pratt was inducted for her performance as a player at Mt. Blue High School and the University of New Hampshire.

From the MFHA press release: "A highly decorated high school athlete, Cyndi went on to a storied career at the University of New Hampshire. A defensive stalwart, Cyndi held career and single season assist records, while leading UNH to a runner-up position in the NCAA tournament in 1986. She participated in the Junior Olympics in 1984 and the Olympic Festivals in 1986, 1987 and 1989. Cyndi began her coaching career at Skowhegan High School as an assistant to Paula Doughty, served as an assistant coach at UMF from 1997-2003 and then took over the program at UMF from 2004 to present."

Also being inducted into the Maine Field Hockey Hall of Fame is former Farmington student-athlete Pam Buffington, who is been honored as an official.
