2018 NAC Baseball Championship Seedings Announced: Castleton Earns Top Seed

Castleton has claimed the top seed and hosting rights for the 2018 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Baseball Championship Tournament, which begins with opening-round games on Saturday, May 5.

The Spartans (27-10 overall) captured the top seed in the conference tournament after posting a league-best 21-3 record in NAC play, while Lyndon (15-7 NAC, 19-18 overall) earned the No. 2 seed, New England College took third (13-8, 24-13) and UMaine-Farmington claimed fourth (10-13, 13-19).

Seeds for the NAC Tournament are based on winning percentage in conference play.

Due to impedning weather conditions, the NAC Baseball Tournament schedule has been adjusted (original schedule was Friday-Sunday).

The four-team double elimination tournament will begin with three games on Saturday. Top-seeded Castleton will host UMaine-Farmington at 9:30 a.m. in Game 1 and Game 2 will see Lyndon will take on New England College at 12:30 p.m. Game 3 will see the losers of Game 1 and Game 2 fight to remain in the tournament at 3:30 p.m.

Tournament action will continue throughout the weekend, as two games are slated for Sunday, May 6, culminating with the final day of the tournament scheduled for Monday, May 7.

Please note that all start times and dates are subject to change.

The NAC tournament champion will earn automatic qualification into the upcoming 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.

Game 1: No. 4 UMaine-Farmington (10-13 NAC, 13-19 overall) at No. 1 Castleton (21-3, 27-10) - 9:30 a.m.
Game 2: No. 3 New England College (13-8, 24-13) vs. No. 2 Lyndon (15-7, 19-18 ) - 12:30 p.m.
Game 3: Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 - 3:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 6
Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 - 11:00 a.m.
Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 - 2:00 p.m.

Monday, May 7
Game 6: Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5 - 11:00 a.m.
Game 7: If necessary (30 minutes after completion of 6) - TBD
