Lyndon Men, Husson Women Capture Cross Country Titles
October 25, 2012
The New England College men's cross country team will look to repeat as North Atlantic Conference Champions Saturday, as the Pilgrims host the 2012 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Cross Country Championships.
The women's race will kick off the day with an 11:00 a.m. start, with the men's following shortly after, with an approximate start time of 12:00 p.m. Each race will be held on the New England College cross country trails.
Earlier this year, the course featured the Mayflower Cross Country Invitational, in which the majority of NAC cross country teams competed to start the season.
The Lyndon men's team looks to make a strong comeback after being unseated by the Pilgrims in the 2011 Championship. The Hornets have topped NAC opponents in each meet this year, including the Mayflower Invitational, placing second only to non-conference opponent Babson College.
On the women's side, Husson and Castleton enter the Championship as front-runners. Husson looks to repeat as champions and has dominated in the field in numerous meets in 2012. Castleton has consistently finished within the top-four throughout the season, including a first-place finish at home.
