NAC Softball Weekly Honors
Husson's Nicky Sargent was named Most Valuable Player in this weekend's NAC Softball Championship. Sargent contributed on the mound and at the plate. She went 4-10 at the plate including 2 HRs, 7 RBIs, and 3 runs. Sargent's two run homerun in the top of the 7th broke a 4-4 tie against U. Maine Farmington, propelling Husson to the critical 6-4 win. On the mound, Sargent hurled 12.1 innings. She factored in all three games earning two wins and coming on to pitch the final inning of the 6-4 victory over U. Maine Farmington for the save. She only allowed 3 earned runs while striking out 6 and walking only 2.

Husson Defeats Farmington in NAC Softball Championship
Husson scored four runs in the first inning as that proved to be all they needed as they defeated the University of Maine-Farmington 7-3 to win their first ever North Atlantic Conference Championship.

UMF's McKell Barnes Named NAC Softball Player of the Year
Sophomore McKell Barnes of the University of Maine at Farmington was selected as the North Atlantic Conference Softball Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches. Barnes led the league hitting .595 at the plate with a .654 on base percentage during conference play. The sophomore who played both first base and catcher, was among the leaders in slugging percentage (1.071), runs batted in (19) and home runs (4) helping Farmington to a 10-4 conference mark.

NAC Softball Weekly Honors
Thomas' Jordan Kennedy won three games last week allowing just 2 earned runs in 24 innings for a .58 ERA while posting 37 strikeouts. The freshman pitcher won two 1-0 contests; a 7 innings victory over UMF in which she allowed 6hits, 2walks while striking out 13, and an eight inning victory over Green Mountain giving up 3 hits with 3 walks with 9 strikeouts.
