PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alicia Burnett, Lesley
(JR, P - Gulf Breeze, Fla.)
Junior pitcher Alicia Burnett pitched five complete games in three
days to lead the Lynx to the NAC Softball Championship this past
weekend. For her efforts, Burnett earned NAC Tournament MVP as she
averaged six strikeouts per game.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cassie Berry, Husson College
(So., 2B - Damariscotta, ME)
Cassie Berry helped lead the Eagles to an 8-0 week, going 19 for
31 at the plate (.612). She had 3 doubles, 6 RBI's, scored 9 runs
and had 3 stolen bases. Berry also had the game winning double in
the 7th inning versus Bowdoin College, to drive in the tieing and
winning runs giving the Eagles the 2-1 victory.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alyson Durben, Lesley University
(FR, OF - Stow, Mass.)
Alyson Durben continued her impressive rookie season batting .579
this past week. Durben scored six runs and knocked in six on the
week. She tallied three doubles and a triple in week that saw the
Lynx go 5-1 to get the #2 seed in the NAC playoffs.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Smith, Thomas
2008, Pitcher - Bucksport, ME)
Smith went 6-0 this past week to keep the Terriers unbeaten in the
NAC. Smith pitched 43 innings, striking out 41, walking only 4
batters, and lowering her ERA to 1.14.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alyson Durben, Lesley
(FR, OF - Stow, Mass.)
The Lynx went undefeated on the week, including 6-0 against the
conference opponents Elms, Johnson, and Castleton. Durben batted
.433 on the week with 11 runs scored and 12 runs batted in. She had
four doubles, a triple, and three stolen bases. The outfielder is
now batting .469 in her rookie season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shawna Bell, Husson
(Sr., Catcher - Corinth, ME)
Going 6-0 in conference action this week, Bell posted a .529
batting average going 9 for 17 at the plate. She had 1 double, 1
triple, 4 homeruns, 8 RBI's, 5 walks and scored 11 runs. She also
hit in the tieing run in the 7th inning on a triple against Lesley.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Megan Richard, Husson
(Fr., DP - Wilton, ME)
Richard helped lead the Eagles to a 6-0 record in conference play
this week going 10 for 18 (.555) at the plate. She had 2 doubles, 3
triples, and 1 homerun, with 7 RBI's. She also scored 6 runs and
had 3 walks.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carolyn McAvoy, Husson College
(Sr., SS - Brewer, ME)
The Eagles went 4-0 this weekend in conference action. Senior
shortstop Carolyn McAvoy hit .615 this weekend going 8 for 13 at
the plate, with 2 doubles, 1 homerun, 5 runs scored, 5 RBI's and 1
BB. In the 3-1 win over Castleton, McAvoy had a 2 run homerun in
the 3rd.

(JR, P - Gulf Breeze, Fla.)
In three starts this past week, Burnett went 3-0. The junior
pitched 15.0 innings and struck out 25 batters while only giving up
nine hits and one run. The Lynx went 6-0 on the week thanks to
Burnett's solid pitching performance and started off North Atlantic
Conference play undefeated at 4-0.

Mallery Stanley, Maine Maritime
Academy
(Freshman, Second Base - Standish, ME)
Stanley had a great weekend at the plate going 12 for 15 in the
four games she played. Along with her .800 batting average Stanley
scored seven runs and collected three RBI's. Of her 12 hits she had
two doubles and two triples to go along with her eight singles.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tiffany Williams, Elms College
(So., C - Berlin, CT)
Williams batted .545 (6 for 11) with a double, three RBI and two
runs scored in a 3-1 week for the Blazers. She also registered 21
putouts and a .958 fielding percentage in four starts behind the
plate.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Amanda Barker, Maine Maritime Academy
(Freshman, Pitcher - Waterville, ME)
The freshman pitcher was outstanding again picking up her third
win in as many starts in 2008. Barker pitched seven innings against
Wheelock striking out 15 batters and giving up only one hit. All
three runs scored against her were unearned keeping her ERA at 0.00
in 17 innings pitched this season. Barker also went 1 for 4 from
the plate in two games with three runs scored.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tosha Whittemore, Castleton
(Freshman, P/INF - Bridport, VT)
In her first collegiate game, Whittemore went 3-for-3 at the
plate, scored a pair of runs and drove in one. The freshman pitcher
smacked a double and a homerun in the 12-6 loss to the Coast Guard
Academy.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Amanda Barker, Maine Maritime
Academy
(Freshman, Pitcher - Waterville, ME)
The freshman pitcher got her career off on the right foot, helping
MMA to a 2-0 start and contributing on the mound and at the plate.
Barker got both of MMA's wins and had 19 strikeouts in 10 innings
of work. She had 11 k's in just 5 innings against Fisher breaking
the school record for k's in a game. She also went 1 for 3 from the
plate in that game with a run scored and a rbi. In the second game
of the weekend she pitched 5 innings, picking up a win and striking
out 8 batters in MMA's 3-1 win over UMaine Presque Isle. She helped
her own cause at the plate once again, going 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's.
Along with the 19 k's, Barker did not give up an earned run in the
10 innings she pitched.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alyson Durben, Lesley University
(Freshman, Outfielder - Stow, Mass.)
Freshman outfielder Alyson Durben batted .370 (10-27) down in Fort
Myers, FL this past week and led the Lynx with 17 total bases.
Durben finished with four runs, five runs batted in, and three
stolen bases. She posted an impressive .630 SLG% as she crushed a
home run and had four doubles on the week.
