PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mary Nienow, Castleton
(Senior, Guard - Middlebury, Vt.)
Mary Nienow averaged 14.3 points and 2.7 rebounds over three games,
in leading Castleton to its first NAC Championship since 2003. In
the final game, a 63-57 win over top-seed Husson, Nienow scored a
career-high 27 points and was 8-for-10 from beyond the three-point
arc, earning tournament Most Vauable Player.

Tatum Welch, Maine Maritime
Academy
(Sophomore, Forward - Newport, ME)
Welch continued her stellar play for the Lady Mariners, collecting
her 13th and 14th double-double of the year. She averaged 21 points
and 13.5 rebounds in two games this week. Welch shot 46% from
the field and 94% (16-17) from the free throw line.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bree Hanscom, Husson University
(Fy, F - Mattawamkeag, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week and earned the #1 seed in the NAC
Tournament. Hancsom averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3 assists
on the week. She had 15 points and 6 rebounds in the 66-57 win over
Green Mountain.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ashley Busque, Me.-Farmington
(Sophomore, Guard - Belgrade, ME)
Busque helped the Beavers to a pair of NAC wins over the weekend.
The sophomore scored all 16 of her points in the opening half in a
win over Castleton and followed with 17 points in a victory over
Green Mountain. For the week, Busque made 11 of 17 shots from the
field (.647), including four of five (.800) from 3-point range.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Samantha Goda, Maine Maritime
Academy
(Freshman, Forward - Eliot, ME)
Sam had another solid week for MMA averaging 11.6 points and 8.7
rebounds while shooting 52% (13-25) from the floor and 72% (9-12)
from the free throw line. She did this while playing less than 20
minutes per contest.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bree Hanscom, Husson University
(FY, F - Mattawamkeag, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week and sit atop the NAC standings.
Hanscom averaged 18.5 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 68.1%
(15-22)in the two wins. Hanscom had 20 points and 8 rebounds in the
78-67 win over UMF which gave the Eagles sole possission of first
place in the NAC.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Angela Locke, Johnson State College
(Fr., G - Waterville, Vt.)
Angela Locke helped lead Johnson State to a 2-1 week by averaging
5.7 points, 3.7 assists, 2 rebounds, and 3 steals. Locke's
week was highlighted by a six-point, six-assist, two-steal, effort
in a 72-50 NAC win over Green Mountain.

Shelby Bradford, Husson University
(Jr, F - Lee, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week with two conference wins on the
road. Bradford averaged 17.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in the two
wins. In the 56-48 win over Johnson State she recorded 18 points,
15 rebounds, and 5 steals.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bree Hanscom, Husson University
(Fy, F - Mattawamkeag, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week with two conference wins on the
road. Hanscom averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds on the week. In
the 95-81 win over Lyndon State she had 21 points and 4 rebounds.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jen Stoddard-Imari, Lyndon State
College
(Senior, Forward - Danville, Vt.)
Stoddard-Imari averaged 21.3 points and 7 rebounds while shooting
58.5% from the floor for the Lady Hornets this past week. On
Tuesday, she scored 23 points and had four rebounds in a 73-64 loss
to Castleton State. To open a two-game road trip on Friday, Jan.
23, Stoddard-Imari tossed in 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in
Lyndon's 73-64 win over Thomas College. She closed out the weekend
with a 23-point, eight-rebound performance in a 77-65 loss to
Maine-Farmington.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bree Hanscom, Husson
(FY, F - Mattawamkeag, ME)
Hanscom averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds as Husson went 2-1 in
conference play. The first year forward grabbed 7 rebounds and
scored 14 points, 11 in the second half including the game winner
with 47 seconds to play, as Husson rallied from down 8 to hand
Castleton their first loss in the conference.

Caitlyn Laflin, Me.-Farmington
(Junior, Forward - Farmingdale, Maine)
Laflin led the Beavers to a pair of NAC road wins this week with
20 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 59-56 victory at MMA
and 31 points and 14 boards in an 82-70 decision at Thomas. During
the week, Laflin averaged 25.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while
converting 16 of 35 field goals and 17 of 18 free throws.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bree Hanscom, Husson University
(First Year, Forward - Mattawamkeag, ME)
The Eagles were 2-0 this week in two conference wins. Hanscom
averaged 14.5 points and 6 rebounds while chipping in 2 assists, 2
blocks, and 2 steals in the two wins. She shot 54% on the week.
Hanscom had 19 points and 8 rebounds in 94-61 win over Thomas
College.

The Eagles were 1-1 this week in two non conference games.
Bradford lead the Eagles to a 79-70 win over Colby College, she had
32 points and 15 rebounds while shooting 12-16 from the field. She
had 18 points and 13 rebounds in an 81-64 loss against U. Southern
Maine. On the week, Bradford averaged 25 points, 14 rebounds, 1.5
assists, 1 steal, and shot 61.2% FG and 80% FT.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Goda had another good game for the Lady Mariners despite playing
only 12 minutes before fouling out in their 61-42 win over UMaine
Presque Isle. Goda scored 12 points on 4-6 shooting and she went 4
for 5 from the free throw line.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caitlyn Laflin, Me.-Farmington
(Junior, Forward - Farmingdale, ME)
Laflin was named to the Williams Winter Classic All-Tournament
Team after posting a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds
plus two blocks and five steals in a loss to Williams and a
game-high 24 points with four blocks and two steals in a loss to
Norwich.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Samantha Goda, Maine Maritime Academy
(Freshman, Forward - Eliot, ME)
Goda continued to impress, averaging 17 points and 8.5 rebounds
per game in MMA's two games over break. Goda shot a sizzling 63%
from the floor (12-19) and 10-11 from the free throw line. Goda had
21 points and 10 rebounds against national power Bowdoin College
and then scored 13 and grabbed 7 boards against William Smith. She
also collected 2 assists and 3 steals.

(JR, F - Farmingdale, ME)
Laflin tallied 28 points and snagged 10 rebounds in the Beavers'
win over NAC rival Thomas. The junior also led the team with 15
points and nine rebounds in a loss to UNE.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Samantha Goda, Maine Maritime Academy
(Freshman, Forward - Eliot, ME)
Sam kept her successful freshman campaign going with two
outstanding games this weekend in the Mariner Classic Tournament.
Sam scored a team high 15 points and a team high 11 rebounds in
MMA's win over UMFK on 5-9 shooting. In the championship game she
scored 8 points and grabbed 12 rebounds with 11 of them coming on
the offensive glass. The 11 offensive rebounds in a game is a
school record. Sam averaged 11.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, had 2
assists, 1 block and 3 steals over the two games.

Andrea Deuell helped Johnson State to a 1-1 week by averaging 13
points, 2.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.5 steals a game while
shooting 53% (9-17) from the field and 63% (5-8) from the 3-point
arc.

Academy
(Freshman, Forward - Eliot, ME)
The freshman post had an outstanding weekend in California. Goda
had a career high 18 points and a career high 15 rebounds in MMA's
win over the United States Coast Guard Academy. In the championship
game against Evergreen State, Goda had 10 points and 9 rebounds in
only 19 minutes of action. In two games this week. Goda averaged 14
points and 12 rebounds earning California Maritime all-tournament
honors.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

(FR, F - Mount Vernon, NY)
Day scored 14 points, collected 2 rebounds, and added 3 steals and
an assist while playing 21 minutes in Green Mountain's 86-55
victory over Anna Maria. She finished 6-8 from the field, including
2-2 from three point territory.

The Eagles opened with a 73-65 win over U. Maine Fort Kent.
Rollins had 27 points and 3 assists. She was 11-19 from the field
and 5-8 beyond the arch.

Husson opened the season with a 73-65 win over the U. Maine Fort
Kent. Hanscom had 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists.
