Player of the Week

Haley Thebarge, Thomas

(So., B - Smithfield, Maine)

Thebarge contributed on both the offensive and defensive end this week for the Terriers. The sophomore back registered two goal goals on Sunday to force overtime against Salve Regina. On the defensive end, Thebarge lead the Terriers to allow just five goals in three games on the week, along with only 13 total shots on goal and nine penalty corners allowed.

   

Defensive Player of the Week

Leah Kruse, Thomas

(Jr., GK - Norridgewock, Maine)


Kruse picked up two wins in two starts this week, allowing just one goal in each game. The junior made three saves in the Terriers 2-1 win over Rivier on Thursday, then made a save on two shots in a 3-1 win at Gordaon on Saturday.

   

Rookie of the Week

Lindsey Gregoire, Thomas

(Fr., F - Kennebunk, Maine)


Gregoire paced the Thomas offense this week, scoring three goals. Gregoire notched the game-winner in the final minutes of regulation on Thursday to top Rivier 2-1, then scored twice in the Terriers 3-1 victory over Gordon on Saturday.

Golfer of the Week 

Matthew Russell, SUNY Canton

Jr., Golfer - Cranberry Lake, NY)


Russell led the Roos in two of three competitions this week. He opened the season with a round of 2-over par, 74 at Potsdam to finish in a tie for fifth. The junior recorded a tie for 22nd showing at Cobleskill on Friday before bouncing back with a tie for 10th place finish (77-77-154) out of 53 golfers at St. Lawrence.

   

Rookie of the Week 

Josh Marshall, SUNY Canton

(Fr., Golfer - Syracuse, NY)

Marshall led the Roos in just his second collegiate match with a round of 10-over par, 80 at the SUNY Cobleskill Jug Classic on Friday. The rookie finished in a tie for 13th with a 79 on Tuesday in his collegiate debut at Potsdam. Marshall improved by four strokes on the second day of the St. Lawrence Invitational to finish in a tie for 30th place out of 53 golfers (85-81-166).

Player of the Week

Andre Rossignol, Me.-Presque Isle


(Fr, Mid - Van Buren, ME)

Freshman Midfielder Andre Rossignol scored (2) hat-tricks this week netting 3 goals in a 3-1 win at home vs. Me-Machias and scored 3 goals at Hampshire College on Sunday in an UMPI 4-1 victory. Andre also scored the Owls lone goal in a 3 to 1 loss at Fisher College Saturday afternoon.

   

Defensive Player of the Week

DJ Nicholas, Thomas (ME)

(Sr., D - Portland, Maine)

DJ Nicholas led the Terriers backline to a 2-1 week, surrendering just four total goals. Opponents averaged only five shots on goal per game against the Terriers this week, including just two by Berkeley on Sunday. Nicholas and the Thomas defense gave up 3.6 corner kicks per game, with UNE only getting two opportunities on Saturday.
 

   

Rookie of the Week 

Kyle Patterson, Thomas (ME)


(Fr., M/F - Gorham, Maine)

 

Kyle Patterson scored two goals this week, en route to a 2-1 week for the Terriers. He scored the lone goal for the Terriers in a 2-1 loss to Colby on Wednesday, then opened the scoring in a 3-2 victory over UNE Saturday. Patterson was heavily involved on the offensive end, registering nine shot in three games.

Player of the Week 

Makayla Lewis, Maine Maritime

(Sr., F - Purcellville, Va.)


Lewis helped lead Maine Maritime to a 2-1 week, totaling four goals and three assists over the three-game week, while landing 55.6 percent of her shots on goal. In the Mariners' 6-1 victory over Massachusetts Maritime, the senior tallied a hat trick and dished out an assist and followed that up on Saturday in the 4-0 shutout of Nichols College with a goal and two assists. 

   

Defensive Player of the Week 

Susana DeFrank, Maine Maritime

(Sr., M - Temecula, Calif.)

DeFrank helped lead the Mariners to a 2-1 week and was instrumental in holding opponents over the weekend to just one goal. She helped lead the Mariners to a 6-1 win over Massachusetts Maritime and a 4-0 shutout over Nichols College on Sunday, where she registered an assist.

   

Rookie of the Week 

Katherine Hoving, Thomas

(Fr., F - Bristol, Maine)

Repeating as rookie of the week, Hoving continued her strong rookie campaign this week with four goals and four assists for 12 points on the week. She scored a hat-trick and chipped in on three other goals in the Terrier 8-0 win over Pine Manor on Saturday, then added another goal and assist on Sunday against Becker.

Player and Rookie of the Week

Elizabeth Chitambar, Northern Vermont-Johnson

(Fr., - Newport, Vt.)

Elizabeth Chitambar was undefeated in Singles matches this week. She bested oppnonets 6-0, 6-0 against Northern Vermont-Lyndon and Castleton in the number 3 spot. Chitambar also paired with teammate Iris Serrano to top NVU-Lyndon's third doubles team 8-0.

Player of the Week

Avery O'Neal, Maine Maritime

(Jr., L - Burbank, Calif.)

O'Neal had a big week for the Mariners against five tough non-conference opponents, totaling 46 kills (2.56 k/s), 45 digs (2.50 d/s), 20 service aces (1.11 sa/s), seven assists and three total blocks. In the Mariners 3-1 loss to Colby, she tallied five kills, one dig, one ace and an assist. On Friday in a tough 3-2 loss to Western Connecticut College O'Neal tallied a double-double of 18 digs, 11 kills and also contributed six aces and three assists. In the 3-0 loss to Coast Guard she recorded nine kills, six digs, three aces and two assists. On Saturday, the junior led the Mariners to a two-match sweep averaging a double-double. In the 3-0 win over Oneonta she registered 11 kills, 10 digs, four aces, and assist and a block. In the 3-0 win over Connecticut College she had 10 kills, 10 digs, six aces and two blocks.

   

Defensive Player of the Week

Maria Perez, Maine Maritime 

(Jr., L - San Juan, Puerto Rico)

Perez helped lead the Mariners to a 2-3 week against a challenging non-conference schedule, and surpassed 1,000 career digs, becoming just the third player in program history to do so. The libero totaled 101 digs (6.31 d/s) and also chipped in with 10 assists, six aces, and a kill. Perez recorded double-digit digs in all five matches. In the Mariners' 3-1 loss to Colby, Perez tallied 26 digs, three assists and a kill. On Friday against Western Connecticut College in a tough 3-2 loss, the junior had 26 digs, and an assist and followed that up with 17 digs, three aces and an assist in the 3-0 loss to Coast Guard. Against Oneonta in a 3-0 victory Perez tallied 18 digs and an assist. In the final match of the week, a 3-0 win over Connecticut College, she had 14 digs, four assists and three aces. 

   

Rookie of the Week 

Adrienne Beatty, Husson


(Fr., DS - Rochester, N.H.)


In two matches against UMaine-Fort Kent, rookie Adrienne Beatty kept into play a total of 39 digs with 36 occurring in just her second match as the libero.
