NAC Weekly Honors (period ending 12/30/18)

 

 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Adam Richardson, Maine Maritime

(Senior, C - Bradley, Maine)

Richardson tallied a game-high 22 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double, the sixth of his career, in the Mariners' 114-101 loss to the University of New England on Sunday. The senior center also added two assists, a steal and a block to earn his second Player of the Week honor this season. Approaching the halfway point in the season, Richardson leads the NAC in field goal percentage (67%) and is in the top five in points and rebounds per game.

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Kimani Anderson, Maine Maritime

(Freshman, F - Houston, Texas)

Anderson tallied a career-high 20 points, shooting 8-of-9 (89%) from the floor, while pulling down four rebounds, and dishing out three assists in the Mariners' loss to the UNE. The freshman is averaging six rebounds per game, good for 11th best in the NAC so far this season.

 

 

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Kenzie Worcester, Husson

(Senior, G - Washburn, Maine)

Worcester led all-scorers with 23 points as Husson upset University of Chicago, ranked #8 in both the d3hoops and WBCA polls, in the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. The triumph marks the first win against a nationally ranked opponent in the Eagles' NCAA era. Worcester also set an individual NCAA era record for the Eagles by becoming the all-time leading scorer at Husson with 1541 points. She averaged 15.5 points, eight rebounds, and two steals per game over the weekend tournament.

 

   

Rookie of the Week 

Autumn Watkins, SUNY Canton

(Freshman, F - Harlem, New York)

Watkins posted nine points, two rebounds and two steals as the Roos earned a big 56-53 win against Oswego State on Saturday. Watkins and her teammates earned the first women's basketball win over the Lakers since joining NCAA Division III.
