MEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Shyquinn Dix, UMaine-Presque Isle

(Sophomore, G - Stamford, Connecticut)

Dix led the Owls in two conference match-ups with 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. On Friday, Dix recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and also chipped in with three assists and three steals. On Saturday, Dix scored a career-high 34 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out four assists. Dix added a block and only turned the ball over twice in 74 minutes.

 

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Jack Kane, UMaine-Farmington

(Freshman, F/C - Cumberland, Maine)

Kane helped the Beavers pick up two NAC victories with solid play on both sides of the ball, averaging 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per conference game. He tallied seven points and two rebounds in 18 minutes of play against NVU-Lyndon on Friday, and racked up 13 points, nine rebounds and five blocks against NVU-Johnson on Saturday afternoon. In 48 minutes of work over three games this week, Kane notched 28 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and six blocks. 

 

 


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week

Megan Peach, Husson

(Sophomore, F - Garland, Maine)

Grabbing her second double-double of the season against No. 1 nationally ranked Bowdoin, Peach recorded ten points, ten boards, and a pair of blocks against the Polar Bears on Tuesday. Peach came down with 11 boards and tallied four blocks and two steals in a home game against Maine Maritime on Saturday as the Eagles earned their fifth straight NAC win. She ended the week averaging 10.5 rebounds, 7.0 points, 3.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game.

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Lea Crompton, Northern Vermont-Lyndon

(Freshman, G - Dunbarton, New Hampshire)

Earning Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season, Crompton helped the Hornets split a pair of NAC contests over the weekend. She scored 16 points with six assists in an overtime loss to UMaine-Farmington on Friday, and followed that up with a 17-point, five assist, three steal effort on Saturday. Crompton ended the weekend with 33 points, 11 assists, four rebounds, and four steals.
