Player of the Week

Adam Richardson, Maine Maritime

(Senior, C - Bradley, Maine)

Richardson led the Mariners in a 1-1 week, averaging 22.5 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game while shooting 72.7 percent from the floor. The senior tallied 20 points, going a perfect 7-of-7 from the line, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Mariners' loss to NESCAC's Colby on Tuesday and followed that up with a season-high 25 points (83.3 percent shooting), five rebounds, and five assists in the team's 68-66 victory over UMaine-Presque Isle on Saturday.

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Griffin Guerrette, Maine-Presque Isle

(Freshman, G - Presque Isle, Maine)

Freshman guard Griffin Guerrette had two outstanding games for the Owls in North Atlantic Conference contests this week, shooting 56 percent from the floor, including 7-for-15 three-pointers and draining 5-of-5 free throws. On Wednesday, Guerrette scored 25 points on 8-for-11 shooting (72.7%), while also tallying two rebounds and two assists in a big overtime win at Thomas College. He followed that up on Saturday with 15 points, five rebounds, and an assist in a two-point loss at Maine Maritime Academy.

 

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
 

Player of the Week

Kenzie Worcester, Husson

(Senior, G - Washburn, Maine)

Worcester led the Eagles to a 3-0 week while holding onto their undefeated season (7-0) in North Atlantic Conference action. Worcester started the week with 26 points, while shooting 10-11 from the charity stripe and 4-6 from the 3-point arc, against Southern Maine on Monday. She finished her 100th career game on Friday night with a game-high 31 points for her second-most in a game this season, combined with 12 boards for a double-double against SUNY Canton. This feat marks the first time in program history that a guard earned a double-double with 30-plus points. Between three games this past week, Worcester averaged 24.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. She now sits atop Husson's NCAA era career leader list for both field goals (572) and assists (302).

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Lea Crompton, Northern Vermont-Lyndon

(Freshman, G - Dunbarton, New Hampshire)

Crompton helped the Hornets extend their winning streak to three with wins against Green Mountain College and Northern Vermont-Johnson. She dropped 17 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the non-conference game early in the week, then followed up with 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal in a win against NAC rival, NVU-Johnson. Crompton shot 52% from the floor, 50% from the arc, and 80% from the free throw line this week.
