MEN'S BASKETBALL
 

Player of the Week

Justin Martin, Husson

(Senior, F - Winslow, Maine)

Averaging a double-double across three games with 23.3 points and 13.7 rebounds per game, Martin helped his team battle to the final buzzer in some very close games as the Eagles went 1-2 on the week. In a 101-98 loss to Colby, Martin tallied 22 points and three assists while pulling down 19 rebounds. Then in a NAC win at Thomas, the senior scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. He had 22 points and 10 rebounds against UMaine-Farmington on Saturday for his third consecutive double-double; a game that marked his 100th career game and included his 100th career 3-pointer at Husson. By the end of the week, Martin had accumulated 70 points, 41 rebounds, and three blocks.

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Justice Kendall, Husson

(Freshman, G - Baltimore, Maryland)

Hitting a career-high 22 points against UMaine-Farmington on Saturday, Kendall drained five buckets from 3-point range, handed out five assists, and grabbed four steals. Earlier in the week, the freshman tallied 12 points and nine assists in a near-upset at Colby (101-98); and contributed nine points, eight assists, five rebounds, and two steals in a NAC win at Thomas. In total, Kendall racked up 43 points (14.3 ppg), 22 assists (7.3 ast/g), seven rebounds (2.3 reb/g), and six steals (2 stl/g). 

 

 

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
 

Player of the Week

Antanasia Chambers, SUNY Canton

(Sophomore, G - Manhattan, New York)

Chambers had a monster week averaging 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5.5 steals, and 3.5 assists per game leading Canton to a 2-0 week in conference play. She shot 45 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the foul line. Chambers opened the week with a game-high 19 points and team-high 12 rebounds, with five assists, while shooting 9-for-18 from the field in a win versus NVU-Johnson. Chambers was just a single steal short of a triple-double as she totaled 17 points, 10 rebounds, nine steals, and two assists in SUNY Canton's second win against the Badgers.

 
   

Rookie of the Week 

Autumn Watkins, SUNY Canton

(Freshman, F - Harlem, New York

Watkins averaged seven points and seven rebounds per game as the Roos swept NVU-Johnson in NAC play on Friday and Saturday. She opened the weekend with 10 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal in a convincing 63-35 win. It was the sixth time she scored in double figures during her rookie season. Watkins followed that up with four points, six rebounds, and a steal in Saturday's 70-56 win versus the Badgers.
