Player of the Week

Alexander Miller, Thomas
(Sophomore, IF/OF - Brandon, Florida)

Miller held a .412 batting average in six games played as the Terriers finished their trip to Florida. The sophomore notched two doubles and plated four RBI while scoring seven himself. He drew three walks and stole two bases on two attempts. In the Terriers 5-3 win over Kalamazoo, Miller went 2-for-3, driving in two runs and scoring another. He made only one error on 22 attempts (.955 fielding) defensively.


Pitcher of the Week

Cam Graham, Husson
(Sophomore, P - Littleton, Maine)

Throwing a complete seven-inning game, Graham gave up just a single walk in the final inning, while striking out six batters to earn the 3-0 conference victory for the Eagles - his second shutout win of the season. Just two outs away from a perfect game, the UMF Beavers snuck a ball up the middle into the outfield for their only hit of the game against sophomore pitcher Cam Graham. His performance led to a perfect 0.0 ERA and an impressive 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings. He also helped out defensively with three putouts on three total catches.


Rookie of the Week

Brandon Brunell, Husson
(Freshman, P - Lyndonville, Vermont)

Making his collegiate debut on the mound for the Eagles, Brunell threw a near-perfect complete game, giving up just a single hit. Brunell struck out his first batter faced and never looked back. His team helped out defensively to close the door on the Beavers and achieve a 9-0 win. By the end of seven innings, the rookie struck out five batters while allowing just two walks, in 25 batters faced, to earn the shutout win.




Player of the Week

John Rohan III, SUNY Delhi
(Junior, A - Wantagh, New York)

Rohan scored 13 of Delhi's 37 goals (35%) across two games this week, setting the game-high in each contest. Rohan scored a game-high seven goals, and notched an assist, while picking up four ground balls and causing a turnover, in a close game with in-state foe, SUNY Poly. On Saturday, the junior led the way with a game-high six goals, while also picking up five ground balls, in a shutout NAC win against Thomas.


Defensive Player of the Week

Brandon Schmidt, SUNY Canton
(Sophomore, D - Ballston Spa, New York)

Schmidt was a force defensively once again this week as he totaled nine ground balls and nine caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Roos. The sophomore posted a team-high three caused turnovers and added three ground balls in a 14-13 loss at Cazenovia. He followed that up with a game-high six caused turnovers to go with six ground balls in a 14-8 road win at Wells. This marks the third weekly nod for Schmidt in 2019.


Rookie of the Week

Hunter Olsen, SUNY Canton
(Freshman, A - Webster, New York)

Olsen totaled eight points on six goals and two assists, and added three ground balls, in a 1-1 week for the Roos. He tied a game-high four goals and added an assist and two ground balls in a 14-13 road loss at Cazenovia. The rookie closed out the week with two goals, an assist, and a ground ball in a 14-8 road win at Wells. His four goals versus the Wildcats on Wednesday marked a new career-high.




Player of the Week

Keilly Lynch, UMaine-Farmington
(Junior, M - Lyman, Maine)

Lynch unselfishly led the Beavers to three wins last week, tallying 16 points with five goals and 11 assists. The junior set up five scores and notched two of her own, while causing three turnovers, against Thomas on Saturday. Earlier in the week, Lynch scored one goal against Maine Maritime, while dishing out three assists and picking up four ground balls, three draw controls, and causing a turnover. She scored two goals, with three assists, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers against Elms. In total, Lynch notched 11 ground balls, 11 draw controls, and seven caused turnovers.


Defensive Player of the Week

Heather Boland, UMaine-Farmington
(Senior, G - Griswold, Connecticut)

Boland shared time in the cage this week and led the Beavers to three wins, including two against conference opponents. Boland earned the 14-5 win against Thomas with three saves in goal. She contributed to two more wins against Elms and Maine Maritime, making 11 and eight saves per thirty minutes in each respective game. On the week, Boland made 22 saves and gave up 15, tallying an overall 59.5% save percentage.


Rookie of the Week

Kaya Backman, UMaine-Farmington
(Freshman, F - South Portland, Maine)

Backman scored 10 goals during the Beavers' three-game win streak. She found the cage with three goals against Maine Maritime, three against Thomas, and four against Elms. Backman also notched four ground balls and caused three turnovers in the wins. She was on target with 16 shots, 13 on goal, and 10 that netted - reaching an 81.3 shots on goal percentage.




Player of the Week

Kaleb Payson, Thomas

(Junior - Lamoine, Maine)

Payson helped the Terriers to a pair of conference wins over the weekend, going a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles. He and partner Ryan Chasse won at No. 1 doubles 8-2 against SUNY Delhi on Saturday, then took an 8-0 sweep against MCLA on Sunday. At No. 2 singles, Payson had a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win against SUNY Delhi, then won 6-0, 6-2 in his match against MCLA.


Rookie of the Week

Yontz Sutton, Thomas
(Freshman - Hamilton, Bermuda)

Sutton had a 4-0 combined weekend in singles and doubles as the Terriers has a 2-0 weekend in conference play. In doubles, Sutton and Jared Waterhouse had 8-2 and 8-1 wins at the No. 2 position against SUNY Delhi and MCLA. He had a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 4 singles against SUNY Delhi on Saturday, then won 6-1, 6-0 against MCLA.
