Gilbert, Arizona - Highlighting what it means to be a Division III student athlete during DIII Week, eight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey student athletes were recently named Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction. With only 56 field hockey student athletes in the NAC, this represents 14 percent of all participants.
The Division III Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year. NAC student athletes on the squad are:

Allison Hughes, Thomas
Leah Kruse, Thomas
Lindsay Morong, Thomas
Torrie Nightingale, UMF
Mikenzie Parker, Husson
Kathryn Taylor, Thomas
Nightingale was also selected to the NAC First-Team All-Conference, and earned the esteemed Senior Scholar Athlete award. Hughes was named to the NAC Field Hockey Sportsmanship Team.
This year, 268 student-athletes have been recognized as Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction.
