2019 Men's Basketball Championship Set: Husson Vs. Thomas

Fifth-seeded Thomas College upset #1 UMaine-Farmington in a nail-biter, 86-85, to advance to the championship. Second-seeded Husson University was victorious over #3 SUNY Canton in an 85-74 decision. The Terriers will face the Eagles at 2:00PM Saturday, February 23 at UMaine-Farmington for the 2019 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) title.

The NAC Men's Basketball Champion will receive an automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.

Semifinal 1: #4 Thomas 86, #1 UMaine-Farmington 85

Farmington, Maine - Jordan Goodson hit a jump shot from the elbow with 1.4 seconds remaining to give No. 4 Thomas College an 86-85 victory on Friday night over No. 1 UMaine-Farmington and advance them to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Final.

RECORDS

UMaine-Farmington closes out the year with an overall record of 16-10 and an 11-4 record in conference play while Thomas College moves to 14-12 overall and 10-5 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-       Amir Moss led all scorers with 25 points with five rebounds, four assists, and three steals along with scoring his 1000th point on the season.

-       Milani Hicks added 23 points with three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block while Bill Ruby added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds with three assists, and one steal.

-       Issac Witham also added 11 points with two rebounds and four assists.

-       Evan Arsenault led the Terriers with 20 points after going 6-9 from three-point land while Jordan Goodson added 18 points with eight rebounds, two assists, and one assist.

-       Zach Mackinnon added 14 points with four rebounds, and three assists as Lovegeurson Fleurine added nine points with 10 assists.

Semifinal 2: #2 Husson 85, #3 SUNY Canton 74

Farmington, Maine #2 Husson University got off to a hot start to propel themselves to an 85-74 victory over #3 SUNY Canton on Friday night in the semifinals of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Finals.

RECORDS

Husson moves to 16-10 overall and 12-3 in conference play while SUNY Canton falls to 14-13 overall and 9-6 in the NAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-       DJ Bussey led all scorers with 26 points on 9-20 from the floor with three rebounds while Justin Martine added 20 points on 7-12 shooting with six rebounds, two assists, and three blocks.

-       Justin Thompson finished with 14 points with 10 rebounds, and two assists as Corey Kaiser added 15 points.

-       Robert Holliday Jr. led the Kangaroos with 18 points with nine rebounds, and one assist as Jordan Stewart added 13 points.

-       Joseph Werner added 10 points as Andrew Fitch finished with nine points and 13 rebounds.
