Semifinal Winners

April 25, 2012

New England College has finished the regular season unbeaten in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play and earned the top seed in the upcoming Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Pilgrims (9-6 overall, 8-0 NAC) will take on eighth-seeded University of Maine at Farmington (2-10, 1-7) in a quarterfinal game on Saturday.

Two-time defending champion Castleton State College earned the second seed, finishing the season 9-7, 7-1. The Spartans will host Thomas College (4-10, 3-5) which earned the seventh seed in quarterfinal action Friday at 7 pm.

Third-seeded Husson University (10-7, 6-2) will host sixth-seeded Lyndon State College (3-6, 3-5), while fourth-seeded Maine Maritime (5-8, 5-3) hosts fifth seed Johnson State College (4-8, 3-5) in the other quarterfinal match-up Saturday.

The top eight teams qualify for the NAC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

Quarterfinal round games will be played on Friday and Saturday April 27 and 28 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals held at the higher seed on Wednesday, May 2. Semifinal winners will meet Saturday, May 5 at the highest remaining seed.

Game times and dates are subject to change. The NAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
