Player of the Week

Josh Yelvington, SUNY Canton
(Senior, M - Carthage, New York)

Yelvington posted nine goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for the Roos. He totaled half of Canton's goals, scoring five times including the game-winner with 3 minutes, 39 seconds remaining, in a 10-9 road win at SUNY Delhi on Saturday. He also had a team-high five ground balls for the Roos who remain unbeaten at 5-0 in conference play. Earlier in the week, the senior tallied game-highs of four goals, five points, six ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 16-6 road win at Alfred State.

   

Defensive Player of the Week

Kody Kocsis, SUNY Canton
(Senior, G - Brasher Falls, New York)

Kocsis combined to make 23 saves on 38 shots (.605 save percentage) in an unbeaten week for the Roos. He stopped 15 shots while allowing just six goals (71.4 save percentage) in a 16-6 road win at Alfred State. He made six saves on seven shots after halftime, as Canton outscored the Pioneers 10-1 during that stretch. Kocsis followed that up by making eight saves in a key 10-9 road win at SUNY Delhi to help the Roos remain unbeaten in NAC play.

   

Rookie of the Week

Hunter Olsen, SUNY Canton
(Freshman, A - Webster, New York)

Olsen totaled three goals, two assists, six ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Roos. He totaled three goals, one assist, two ground balls and a caused turnover in a 16-6 road win at Alfred State on Wednesday. He followed up with an assist, four ground balls and two caused turnovers in a crucial 10-9 road win at SUNY Delhi. The victory kept the Roos unbeaten at 5-0 in NAC play.
