Player of the Week

Josh Yelvington, SUNY Canton
(Senior, M - Carthage, New York)

Yelvington posted 14 points (11 goals, 3 assists) with four ground balls in a pair of wins last week. He totaled game-highs of five goals and two assists in a 21-1 win versus NVU-Johnson to complete a perfect 5-0 mark in NAC regular season play. The senior scored four of Canton's first five goals in a 15-11 NAC semifinal win and finished with six goals, one assist, and three ground balls in the victory. Yelvington set four NCAA D-III era program records in the process as he now owns both the single-season records for both goals (48) and points (70). He also moved into first place in the record books with 116 career goals and 153 career points.

   
 

Defensive Player of the Week

Blaze Benedict, SUNY Canton
(Freshman, D - Akwesasne, New York)

Benedict posted a game-high four caused turnovers and picked up three ground balls for the Roos defense in a 15-11 win against Dean College in the NAC semifinal to lead Canton to the championship game.

   
 

Rookie of the Week

Verne Rice, Maine Maritime
(Freshman, GK - Stratham, New Hampshire)

Rice earned his first career start for the Mariners in the team's exciting 10-9 victory over Husson in the regular season finale for both teams. The freshman goalie tallied 13 saves, including eight saves in the second half, while also scooping up four ground balls to earn his first collegiate victory in net.
