Player of the Week

Andre Rossignol, Me.-Presque Isle

(Fr, Mid - Van Buren, ME)

Freshman Midfielder Andre Rossignol scored (2) hat-tricks this week netting 3 goals in a 3-1 win at home vs. Me-Machias and scored 3 goals at Hampshire College on Sunday in an UMPI 4-1 victory. Andre also scored the Owls lone goal in a 3 to 1 loss at Fisher College Saturday afternoon.


Defensive Player of the Week

DJ Nicholas, Thomas (ME)

(Sr., D - Portland, Maine)

DJ Nicholas led the Terriers backline to a 2-1 week, surrendering just four total goals. Opponents averaged only five shots on goal per game against the Terriers this week, including just two by Berkeley on Sunday. Nicholas and the Thomas defense gave up 3.6 corner kicks per game, with UNE only getting two opportunities on Saturday.


Rookie of the Week 

Kyle Patterson, Thomas (ME)

(Fr., M/F - Gorham, Maine)


Kyle Patterson scored two goals this week, en route to a 2-1 week for the Terriers. He scored the lone goal for the Terriers in a 2-1 loss to Colby on Wednesday, then opened the scoring in a 3-2 victory over UNE Saturday. Patterson was heavily involved on the offensive end, registering nine shot in three games.



North Atlantic Conference play begins September 15.

SUNY Canton earned a 0-0 double overtime tie v. SUNY Poly on Saturday as Mouhammed Thiam made four saves in his second shutout of the year. After taking an early lead SUNY Canton fell 2-1 at SUNY Potsdam on Wednesday.

UMaine-Farmington went 1-1 this week with a 2-0 loss to Bates and a 3-1 win over USM.

Husson dropped two games on the road to Western New England and Roger Williams. Kyle Townsend once again posted a spectacular save in net on a penalty kick.

NVU-Johnson went 1-1 this past week with a win over NVU-Lyndon and a loss against Curry College.

NVU-Lyndon dropped all three matches that they played this week. On Tuesday they fell at Castleton, 6-0. Over the weekend they lost both matches at the Southern Vermont LINAO Mountaineer Invitational, losing to the hosts 2-1 in overtime on Saturday and to NVU-Johnson 5-3 in the consolation game on Sunday. Senior Will Martin scored all three goals against Johnson.

Maine Maritime went 0-2-1 this week, falling to Southern Maine on Wednesday, 3-0, fighting to a 2-2 draw with Norwich University on Friday and falling to SUNY Maritime 2-1 on Saturday.

Thomas was 2-1 on the week, starting with a 2-1 loss to Colby on Wednesday. The Terriers swept the weekend, with a 3-2 win at UNE Saturday and a 2-0 victory over Berkeley on Sunday.

UMaine-Presque Isle recorded a 3-1 win over the University of Maine at Machias as well as a 4-1 win at Hampshire College this week. Freshman Andre Rossignol scored hat-tricks in both victories to lead the Owls attack. UMPI also dropped a 3-1 game at Fisher College and currently sport a (3-2) record.
