Player of the Week

 

Rod Ghanayem, Husson

(Sr., M/F - Orlando, Fla.)

Delivering a perfectly placed corner, Rod Ghanayem found the head of teammate Paxton Oversmith to score the lone goal in the 1-1 double overtime draw with Southern Maine on Tuesday night as they closed out the regular season. Ghanayem helped the Eagles secure a 2-1 victory in the North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday on a breakaway goal in the 62nd minute of the match to tie the score at one-all and put Husson back in the game they went on to win, advancing to the semifinal round of the NAC tournament.

   

Defensive Player of the Week

Joshua Reeks, Maine Maritime

(Sr., GK - Bedford, N.H.)

Reeks earned the victory in net for the Mariners in their 2-1 victory over Thomas College on Tuesday night. The victory gave the Mariners the top seed in the NAC Tournament and hosting rights of the semifinals and finals. The senior goalie tallied six saves in the victory.

   

Rookie of the Week 

Evran Akman, SUNY Canton

(Fr, M - East Fishkill, NY)

Akman assisted the game-winning goal in the 31st minute to help lead the Roos to a 5-0 shutout win on the road at NVU-Johnson in the NAC Quarterfinals. SUNY Canton makes its first-ever appearance at NAC Championship Weekend. Contributing on both ends of the field, Akman  helped lead a defense that gave up just one goal over 180 minutes and an offense that scored five goals in a playoff win.
