PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Michael Hand, Thomas College
(FR, F - United Kingdom)
Michael Hand (United Kingdom) played a stellar game for the Terriers in the NAC Championship on Saturday scoring two goals. Hand's first goal tied the game in 1-1 in the 23rd minute. Hand scored his second and the eventual game winner in the 49th minute. Hand has tallied four goals and eight points this fall for Thomas.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Mikkail Crockwell, Thomas College
(FR, GK - Bermuda)
Mikkail Crockwell (Bermuda) played an amazing game in the goal for the Terriers in their NAC Championship victory over Lyndon; on his way to making the All-Tournament Team. Crockwell made six save in the Semifinals against UMF and repeated the same numbers in Saturday's Championship.

Patrice Lumumba, Lyndon
(Sophomore, Striker - Burlington, Vt./Republic of the Congo)
Lumumba scored three goals in the week as Lyndon earned its first-ever trip to the North Atlantic Conference finals. He had the game-wining goal in Tuesday's 4-1 quarterfinal victory over Maine Maritime before tallying two goals in the Hornets' stunning 3-1 upset win over Castleton Sunday in the conference semifinals.

Castle scored two goals in the Semifinal defeat of (3) UMF on Saturday.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Abdullah Alkhayyat, Maine Maritime Academy
(Sophomore, Striker - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)
The sophomore striker scored the game winning goal for the Mariners in a must win match at Farmington on Saturday. Alkhayyat's goal was scored late in the second half giving MMA the 1-0 victory and earning a berth in the upcoming NAC tournament.

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Viktor Nilsson, Me.-Farmington
(FR, M - Linkoping, Sweden)
Nilsson converted a pair of penalty kicks to lift the Beavers to a 2-1 NAC victory in overtime at Thomas. The freshman has started every game for Farmington this season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Josh Costa, Castleton
(Sr., Forward - Sutton, Mass.)
Costa had two goals and three assists to lead Castleton to a 2-1 week. In Saturday's 4-1 win at Maine Maritime the senior captain scored one goal and dished out two assists. Sunday Costa had a one goal, one assist performance as Castleton wrapped up a perfect 7-0 conference record with a 3-0 defeat of back-to-back defending champion Husson.

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Tennessee Peters, Me.-Farmington
(FR, GK - Scarborough, Maine)
Peters helped the Beavers to a 1-0-2 week. Peters split time in a 1-1 tie with Southern Maine and a 2-1 win over Johnson State and manned the pipes for 110 minutes in a 1-1 deadlock with Lyndon. The freshman collected 20 saves in the three matches.

(SR, F - Old Town, Maine)
Clark scored the lone goal as the Beavers scored a 1-0 win over NAC foe Husson. It was Farmington's first win over Husson since 2004.

Casey Castle, Thomas College
(Fr., M - Bermuda)
Casey Castle (Bermuda) started the Terriers off with the first goal of the game in their 3-1 win against Maine Maritime on Friday when he finished a cross from fellow Freshmen Dylan Keller (Freedom, ME). The goal was Castle's eight goal on the season.

Trevor Kotrady, Castleton
(So., Forward - North Clarendon, Vt.)
Kotrady helped Castleton to a 2-0 week, earning wins over Norwich and Lyndon. The sophomore forward scored a goal and handed out an assist in a 3-0 shutout of Lyndon to take over sole possession of first place.

Brendon Santry, Me.-Farmington
(FR, M - Tallahassee, Fla.)
Santry helped the Beavers to a pair of wins this week as the freshman netted the game-winner -- his first collegiate goal -- a 2-1 overtime victory over Maine-Machias and his play on the ball led to an own goal in a 2-0 win at Newbury.

Jason Gray, Lyndon State College
(Sophomore, Goalkeeper - East Thetford, Vt.)
Gray earned three victories in the week - two via the shutout route - as Lyndon upped its overall record to 7-1-1 and 2-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. He made three saves in a 7-2 win over the College of St. Joseph (Vt.) on Tuesday before putting together back-to-back 1-0 shutouts in conference victories on Husson (four saves) and Maine Maritime (four saves) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Dominic Heller, Castleton
(Fr., Back - Glenville, N.Y.)
Starting for the first time in his collegiate career, Heller turned in a pair of fantastic defensive performances in wins over Thomas and Farmington this past weekend. Heller was instrumental in limiting Casey Castle and Jordan Hale, two of the league's leading scorers, to just two combined shots on net and zero goals. The freshman marking back nearly picked up his first collegiate goal as well, but his attempt versus Farmington went just wide.

Nate Kishbaugh, Green Mountain College
(SO, GK - Niskayuna, N.Y.)
Goalkeeper Nate Kishbaugh (Niskayuna, N.Y.) recorded a pair of clean sheets last week leading the Green Mountain College men's soccer team to its first win of the season over Southern Vermont College (1-0) and a 0-0 double overtime draw at Becker College. Kishbaugh made four saves against the Mountaineers to preserve the win and tallied nine stops against the Hawks.

Ryan Belen, Johnson State College
(Fr., GK - Northvale, N.J.)
Ryan Belen made two starts in a 1-1-1 week for Johnson allowing two goals in 210 minutes for a 0.86 goals against average for the week including 14 saves and a .875 save percentage. Belen made seven stops to preserve a scoreless tie versus visiting SUNY-ESF on Sunday to highlight his week.

Kyle Mecham, Lyndon
(Junior, Midfield - Wilbraham, Mass.)
Mecham, a transfer from Fairleigh Dickinson University, continues to shine for Lyndon, tallying three goals and collecting three assists on the season thus far for a total of nine points. On Saturday, Sept. 11, he scored one goals and collected two assists in the Hornets 4-2 win over Becker. One day later, against Southern Maine Community College, Mecham socred one goal and had one assist in Lyndon's 3-1 victory over the Seawolves. The wins upped the Hornets mark to 4-1-1 overall.

Ryan Belen, Johnson State College
(Fr, GK - Northvale, N.J.)
Ryan Belen helped key a Johnson shutout on Saturday at Daniel Webster College in his first collegiate start. Belen made 11 saves, four in extra time, to preserve a 0-0 tie in the non-conference match despite being being outshot 24-8.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jason Gray, Lyndon State College
(Sophomore, Goalkeeper - East Thetford, Vt.)
Gray made an immediate impact on the Hornets program as its starting goalkeeper, recording two wins and a shutout in the opening week of the 2010 season. He made nine saves in a 1-1 overtime tie with New Hampshire Tech on Wednesday, Sept. 1 before turning aside 13 shots in a 2-0 road victory over Morrisville State on Saturday. Gray closed out the period by making three saves in a 3-1 win at SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday. Thus far on the season, he has played a total of 290 minutes with a goals-against-average of 0.62. Gray collected a total of 25 saves in the week for a saves percentage of .926.

Tennessee Peters, Farmington
(FR, GK - Scarborough, Maine)
Peters appeared between the pipes in both matches for the Beavers. The freshman played a half, making one save, in a 2-0 loss to Lawrence and stopped nine shots in a 0-0 tie at Maine Maritime.
