Player of the Week

Maddy Olsen, Husson
(Sophomore, A/M - Bath, Maine)

Providing dramatic action, Olsen scored the game-winner in overtime against UMaine-Farmington on Saturday for a 12-11 conference victory. Earlier on in the week, Olsen netted a team-high four goals to help hold onto a 12-10 triumph over Maine Maritime. The Mariners made a strong late push, crawling back from a seven-goal deficit in the final minutes to make it a one-goal game. Olsen scored the insurance goal to earn the win for the Eagles. In all, she accumulated six goals, nine ground balls, 12 draw controls, and caused three turnovers.


Defensive Player of the Week

Jessica Pele, SUNY Canton
(Senior, M - Estevan, Saskatchewan)

Pele stuffed the stat sheet, posting 12 ground balls, eight draw controls, five caused turnovers, and a pair of goals as the Roos improve to 8-2 overall and remained perfect at 4-0 in NAC play with a 2-0 week. She opened the week with two goals, a game-high six ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 13-10 road win at Hartwick. The senior followed that up with another game-high six ground balls, to go with four draw controls and two caused turnovers, while helping hold NVU-Lyndon scoreless in a 20-0 NAC win on Saturday.


Rookie of the Week

Mary Cushing, Husson
(Freshman, A/M - Fairfield, Vermont)

Accumulating nine points on a 2-0 week for the Eagles, Cushing helped Husson secure a 12-10 victory over Maine Maritime on Tuesday with two goals and a pair of assists. Then on Saturday, she scored a team-high four goals and dished one assist to help Husson overcome UMaine-Farmington in overtime. In total, the rookie tallied six goals, three assists, seven ground balls, seven draw control wins, and caused three turnovers.
