CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy's Eryn Doiron (Wilton, Maine) and Susana DeFrank (Temecula, Calif.) have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Soccer First Team.
Doiron led the Mariners with 16 goals and four game-winning goals this season, tying the program's single-season record in both categories. The junior midfielder net hat tricks in the Mariners' victory over Unity College and UMaine-Machias, while tallying a total of four multi-goal games. During the season Doiron was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week on September 24 and the September ECAC Division III North Offensive Player of the Month. Doiron also earned a spot on the NAC First Team.
DeFrank was an instrumental member of the Mariners' defense that only allowed two goals against NAC opponents during the regular season, for a 0.29 goals against average, and 12 goals all season for a 0.74 goals against average. The defensive midfielder chipped in with three goals, four assists and a game-winning goal in the Mariners' 2-0 conference win over SUNY Canton. The senior captain earned NAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 10 and 24. DeFrank was named to the NAC First Team for the fourth-consecutive season and is the 2018 NAC Defensive Player of the Year.
