NAC Cross Country Honors (Week Ending 9/23/18)

 
 

 

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Oarrod Ottman, Thomas College

(Jr. - Merrimack, N.H.)

Jarrod Ottman won the UMaine-Augusta Invitational on Saturday. The junior ran a quick 5:30 pace to cross the finish line in 17:03.5; 24.7 seconds better than the second place finisher from Colby.

 

 

   

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 

Jeremy Gundrum, SUNY Canton

(Fr. - West Sand Lake, NY)


Gundrum led the men's cross country team with a 5:57 pace, covering the 8-kilometer course at St. Lawrence in 29:38. Gundrum finished in 50th place out of the highly competitive 94-runner field at the St. Lawrence University Hoffman Invitational.

   

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Madeline Hewitt, SUNY Canton

(Sr. - Fabius, NY)

Hewitt led the women's cross country team with a 7:22.5 pace at the St. Lawrence University Hoffman Invitational. The senior finished the 6k race in in 27:29, good enough for 41st place int the highly competitive non-conference field.

 

   

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Valentine Degiovanni, University of Maine-Presque Isle

(Fr. - Nice, France)

Degiovanni led the Owls once again, but this time in a longer distane. The freshman held a 6:42 pace across the 6k course to finish in the top 20 at the competititive Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College. Degiovanni's final time of 25:00 was fast enough for 19th place.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

SUNY Canton Jeremy Gundrum led the Roos with a top 50 finish at the Hoffman Invitational on Saturday. Gundrum covered the 8-kilometer course at St. Lawrence in 29:38 to finish in 50th place out of the highly competitive 94-runner field.

UMaine-Farmington was off this week and will compete at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Husson was off this week and will compete at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.

NVU-Johnson competed in the Elms College Blazer Classic and looks ahead to the Vermont State Championship on Saturday.

NVU-Lyndon was off this week and will host the Vermont State Championship meet this Saturday.

Maine Maritime was off this week and will compete at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.

UMaine-Presque Isle competed in the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College in Wenham, MA. The Owls finished 12th out of 17 Teams in the 8K race. UMPI will run this coming weekend at Bowdoin College in the Maine State Championships.

Thomas finished first at the UMaine-Augusta invitational on Saturday, led by top finnisher Jarrod Ottman. The Terriers will run in the Maine State Championship at Bowdoin on Saturday.

 

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

SUNY Canton Madeline Hewitt led the Roos at the Hoffman Invitational at St. Lawrence University, clocking 27:29 over the 6-kilometer course to finish in 41st place out of the highly competitive 64-runner field.

UMaine-Farmington was off this week and will compete at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Husson was off this week and will compete at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.

NVU-Johnson competed in the Elms College Blazer Classic and looks ahead to the Vermont State Championship on Saturday.

NVU-Lyndon was off this week and will host the Vermont State Championship meet this Saturday.

Maine Maritime Academy was off this week and will compete at the State of Maine Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday.

UMaine-Presque Isle traveled to Massachusetts to run in the Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday. The Owls finished 10th out of 16 teams in the 6K race. Freshman Valentine Degiovanni was the top runner for UMPI coming in with a time of 25:00, good for a 19th place finish. Me-Presque Isle will compete in the Maine State Championships this Saturday at Bowdoin College.

Thomas placed third in the UMaine-Invitational on Saturday. The Terriers will run in the Maine State Invitational at Bowdoin on Saturday.
