NAC Cross Country Honors (Week Ending 9/30/18)

 


 

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Jarrod Ottman, Thomas College

(Jr., - Merrimack, N.H.)

Ottman finished 18th in a huge field of 223 runners at the Maine State Championship on Saturday. Pacing a 5:21 mile over the 8k (4.97 mile) course, Ottman clocked 26:37..7, tops among conference runners in the race. The junior bested the next NAC runner by 29 places and nearly 40 seconds.

 

 

   

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 

Anthony Pifari, Northern Vermont University-Lyndon


(Freshman - Littleton, NH)


Pifari led the Hornets in the Vermont State Championships on Lyndon's home course, clocking 30:36.0 over the challenging 8k (5.01 mile) race. Pifari finished eighth out of 62 runners and helped the Hornets notch a fourth place team finish, producing the best individual and team finishes for the NAC. The race included the top 2 Division II & Division III runners from the state of Vermont.

   

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Gwen Baker, UNIVERSITY OF MAINE-FARMINGTON

(Sr., - Windham, Maine)

Baker led all NAC runners in the Maine State Invitational at Bowdoin college, finishing in 82nd place out of 247 runners. Baker ran the 6k (3.73 mile) course in a time of 25:23.5. The senior topped all NAC women by 31 seconds and 15 places.

   

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Zosia Prince, NVU-Lyndon

(Freshman, - Sutton, VT)

Prince clocked 23:42 over a difficult 5k (3.16 mile) course running at the Vermont State Championships held in Lyndonville. Prince was the top runner for all NAC competitors on the day by more than 5 minutes. The freshman finished eighth out of a competitive field of 52 Division II & Division III runners.
